Not many I'd go for personally in there but some interesting ones like Lallana and Clyne at Liverpool.

I'd take Defoe like. Not sure of his age exactly and CBA to check (probs 35 or 36) but he keeps himself very fit and I'd quite happily put my house on him burying every chance that Gayle/JoeLinton have ever missed for us....and some.

Reckon you could still get 65-70 mins out of him most games like.

Aye 38 PL games, 7 goals, 14 assists. Why would Newcastle need any of that "****e". I suppose you were a Rafa ball tickler so you wouldn't want to see any goals or assists.

I would think so but whether I'd want many of them I don't know. There are two right backs on there who previously would be considered better than Manquillo by miles on performance. But I actually think Manq has done quite well this season so not sure I'd swap him. The likes of Vertonghen, Willian and David Silva are obviously quality players but ageing and not options for us really. There is an awful lot of dross though.

If MA's still here expect McCormack and Clyne.

 

Willian and Silva stand out as players who would clearly walk into our team (and walking may be all they are able to do now) but they aren't coming here and don't fit our model.

Niasse is an interesting one as he's looked good whenever I've seen him and was utterly shafted at Everton by Koeman almost immediately after they had paid £14m for him. I'd trust him more than Joelinton up front to be honest but you'd have to hope we're looking for a higher level than that and suspect Gayle is better anyway.

The rest are either poor, too old or have stalled in their careers. Overall I'd say it shows how well clubs have done this year of keeping players contracts in good shape!

ps. Elliot going and Colback!!!! Surely frees up some wages with zero loss to first team squad.
