Friedel should be on ther ebecause some other players that have agreed moves are on there.

Gallas agreed a new deal with us didn't he?

    Ah, my bad, I misunderstood.

You meant players that are currently available for a free. I thought you ment players that have been signed on a free.

Yeah this list is the players that have been released this year.

The list is a bit astrange though because Friedel is missing but Elmander (who has agreed a move) is on it, plus the retiring players.

Would be a pretty strong 11 though.

I don't think you can count retiring players like Van Der Sar, Scholes etc. Hasn't Craddock just been given a new deal?

    If they could stay fit...

    Carew Elmander
    McFadden Reo-Coker Hargreaves Larsson
    Garrido Upson Woodgate Pantsil
    Hahnemann

Subs: Gudjohnsen, Kamara, Faye, Vieira, Gera, Caldwell, Taylor.

I'd also take Tom Cruise and Steve Irwin - youth players released by Le Arse and Pool because of their names, and Anthony Edgar - youth player released by WHAM, and never play him because he was in my year at school and is a c***.

Doesn't really matter about Friedel anyway. van der Sar would be the first choice keeper. <ok>

Van der Sar's not available, as he's retiring.
The same applies to Gary Neville, Scholes and hopefully Judas, too.

I wouldn't mind us picking up Carew for nothing, if we get rid of pretty much all of our strikers and he'd accept being a squad player.

I'm surprised that Upson, Reo-Coker and Larsson haven't already arranged transfers.
Maybe they're just weighing up their options?

Van Der Sar and Scholes aren't on free transfers - unless we convince them to come out of retirement, whilst Abdoulaye Faye decided he's rather endure playing Sam Allardyce's style of play for the football equivilent of the Lusitania.

PNP - I agree about Carew, he's like Crouch with more skill and better in the air.

My first thought was none of em!, but I agree Carew to be an improvement on one or two now its mentioned, not to start regular PL games, but decent enough for the early EL and cup games etc.

If we sold Crouch and Bentley for about £15mill and got in Larson and Carew it would be a good trade. If we kept VDV as a forward with one striker I'd have no objections to him being our 3rd striker but with him and Pav we'd need to bring in a top striker, which would mean Defoe has to go as well. Unfortunately we're struggling to sell anyone at the moment and with us already looking to bring in an extra 2/3 players I can't help but feel that we need to try and keep any unnecessary player turnover to a minimum.
