Am I right in thinking that lapsed season ticket holders have been given free tickets for todays game??? if its true I think its an absolute disgrace!! How about just for a change the club rewards the loyalty of the season card holders who have had a ticket since the opening of the sol and at Roker Park before that??? What do we get for watching ****e for year after year? oh aye I forgot about the "cheap pie" offer!!
Mate got a letter about it but, already had ours purchased mate, agree though and said on another thread a while back that they should give season ticket holders hats or scarfs or something worthwhile for paying up front.
Winds me right up mate, bairn came home with 2 for £20 offer from school on friday for the manure game, its appaulling
To be fair mate I don't mind that as it gets the kids into the club albeit it could be a drubbing mind (especially on a school night ), it's the only way to get the kids interested in SAFC and not Chelsea/Man U/Barcelona etc. etc. Anyhow off to the club now lads won't be back on here tonight it's a new thing do not post on a home match day.
Dont get me wrong i'm all for the kids going on the cheap, its the accumalation of rewards for non sc holders that gets me, i could have saved my final d /d payment due in december by now
We need all the support we can get, and if we filled the stadium week in and week out then this wouldn't be an issue..
I totally agree with you Paddock Man. Last season I had the pleasure of going into the corporate lounge for the first time ever after supporting them as long as I can remember and I saw all of these parasites and the obvious prawn-sandwich brigade wining and dining, and some of them just stayed in the bar after half time because we were getting beat. I've been in the corporate boxes a few times but the lounge was something else, meet the players after the match and all that, meal laid on, and drinks provided by the company that had the seats. I thought, " Why not have a table of, say, 10 season ticket holders who's numbers have been drawn out randomly each home game just to give the average punter a taste of how the other half lives", I think that would be a great gesture by the club. I think they used to do do a similar thing with the Black Cat Bar but everyone should experience that corporate lounge in my opinion.
I wouldn't go to the corporate area if it was given to me..It's just not me and I wouldn't feel comfortable..
I remmember the days in the seventys I was a season ticket holder in the clock stand never got a wembley ticket.was at a game with twelve thousand supporters went home and away.safc no loyalty to me. Still follow them through thick and thin.dont go to as many games as I would like.
You couldn't feel anything else but comfortable after drinking all that free booze and sitting in them leather seats, definitely for me if I ever win the lotto.
I am cancelling my season card payment today as I have two payments left, and the Newcastle game will be my last, 31 years of rubbish is enough for me, as well as the pathetic defence we have, I will not go back until the yank is out and someone who knows how to run a football club and a manager is brought in and given big money.
I can't understand why this pisses some people off..if you love the club you back them every way you can..
I was in corporate for liverpool game yesterday as a guest of a lifetime Sunderland fan who has a business where he now can enjoy his club from a different perspective. There were plenty of proper supporters there and it's a fantastic experience for any fan. I loved it and have been luck to be invited many times and will continue to enjoy any invitation offered. I sat 10ft from Ellis today and was nice to say hello to him. Jimmy Montgomery came over to have some crack with us and I even saw Pardew at half time. Corporate offers a different world to my usual day at the game but is nonetheless as enjoyable and passionate. I still shout and ball in my posh seat as much as I ever do in my regular one.
Well for the first time ever I'm in total agreement with you MR RA. No way would I want to be sat behind glass with a load of toffs/tories be absolute ****. Much better to be out in the elements and to get the full experience of the misery.
I remember being a VIP to the Lads vs Spurs FA.Cup tie (Bennett sent off, Klinnsman scored etc) Got proper lashed up early doors and then free drinks in the lounge. Me and my marra were in a round with Ally McCoist and Ian Durrant... The next thing, I was being woke (on a posh settee) up by Jack Charlton who kindly informed me the 2nd half was just starting!!! I got to my VIP wooden seat (with red cushion) just in time to see Big Gary get sent off... My evening ended watching Jurgen Klin collect the MoM award and me and Vic Halom having an argument with Steve Cram. He is a dick by the way... Steve Cram that is!
The last time and only time I was invited to corporate hospitality I proceeded to tuck into Steve crams buffet.i was soon told off
