How ****e must the rest of them be at training that Brady keeps taking them. I hope he pops up with one in the second half but theres more chance of me putting one in from leven!

I dont think we should go for goal on free kicks. Just put it in the box with pace or something because all we do is give the ball back to the other team when we take them.

Didn't Brady score from a free kick in one game?

He's probably had around 15 FKs (max) in a good position this season. What sort of return are you expecting?

I'd certainly expect him to test the 'keeper more often than he does.

I think Aluko wouldve been our 1st choice FK taker.

If we are going to shoot from a FK, give it to Koren. If we cross, leave it with Brady.

Certainly, I'd feel a lot confident with Aluko stood over it than Brady.

Koren just seems to always hit it straight at the wall.

Boyd has a half-decent left peg on him, can't see him being much worse than Brady at them.

Koren's free kicks are utterly appalling every single time.

Brady nearly scored two against Forest and he also scored one at Bolton (though it was deflected). He tries to hit them bloody hard and curl it all over the place like Ronaldo so when it works its amazing but often it ends up in the stand. It does seem strange though that Boyd and Elmo don't take set pieces since they're so skilful in open play.

That 'Ronaldo style' free-kick has never worked for him, he nearly always skies them, only one was half-decent against Forest and he's never scored with one. The one against Bolton was a very poor free-kick and had no chance if it hadn't have been for the deflection. Elmo has taken a few and they were poor although I can't say I've seen Boyd have a go.

The trick is getting it to dip. Most players can hit the right area of the goal but it's getting it up and over that requires the real skill. Dawson and Cairney are specialists at that and that's why their free kick conversion rates are/were so high.

I always wondered why Elmo doesn't take more set pieces; we've seen his ability to cross from open play, so why wouldn't he be able to take a corner or free kick? Koren's corners have been hit and miss this season and the less said about Brady's free kicks the better. I think Cairney is actually the best free kick taker (if we are shooting), but he's barely ever on the pitch so I'd give Elmo a go at it.

Shame we can't bring daws on just for free kicks. Not suggesting for one minute that he should be near the bench, never mind the first 11 but American football 'special play' style subs would be good for us!
