Due to the challenging economic times and the totally exorbitant cost of rail travel, next Saturday's game would have been an ideal one to offer free transport to/from. We've seen this done in the past by other clubs as well as our own. We never do well at Millwall and if there is game where we could do with some extra support would be it. I realise this doesn't tie-in with the current owners fiscal policies, but there comes a time when the club has to make some kind of gesture or action in recognition of our promotion bid. There is no talking up being done, no sign of commercial life, no sense of mission, no leadership. no signs of any belief, no postive noises, no rallying calls- nowt. Sometimes the club has to make the first move, and the clock is ticking....
There will be a big City support @ Millwall as the southern based fans will be there supplemented by the northern based ones travelliing down. Millwall have a game @ Barnsley tuesday night so City should be fresher after Portugal. Lets forget about the FAC and get back to winning ways.
The support will be ****, it generally is at Millwall it's hardly the most appealing feature. We took 274 last season, about our worst away attendance of the season.
Poor game to do it, families can't go, and about 50% won't want to go to Millwall. Would prefer a game at Watford, or somewhere like that, still a fair distance to go but a lot nicer place. I know we have played Watford but just using them as an example.
I see even Chelsea with their loadsamoney fans are still subsidising their fans away travel, just like they did when they came here for a night game.
I only really go to that there London if I really have no option. I much prefer the games in England.
It's a good idea, But the Milwall game would be a bad game to do it really. Long Journey and Hardly the most family friendly place to go.
Factor in extortionate travel prices and not many will go. Lay on travel at a fiver or a tenner a go, and it would be a decent turn out.
