Free agent Benayoun set to snub Redknapp's QPR offer and join Malaga By Simon Griver PUBLISHED: 07:25 GMT, 11 November 2013 | UPDATED: 07:27 GMT, 11 November 2013 0 View comments Former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun is set to snub QPR for Malaga. Sources close to the Israeli say that Benayoun could still be lured to Loftus Road if QPR can match the 18 month contract and £65,000 a week on offer in Spain. Benayoun said: 'Pini Zahavi is pressing me hard to sign for QPR but at the moment I'm inclined towards moving to Spain. 'However, things can change in one second. I also have an offer from Malaga and we are set to agree everything. 'The only thing that is bothering me is that I won't be able to play until January because they have their full quota of non-European players and I don't hold an EU passport.' QPR boss Harry Redknapp is eager to sign Benayoun to help his push for promotion and last week said he would sign him if he is fit. Redknapp said, 'I know his abilities and heâs a really good player. A midfielder with his quality could really help us.' Benayoun, 33, was released by Chelsea in the summer after his three year contract expired. Since coming to England in 2005 from Racing Santander he has also played for West Ham, Liverpool and Arsenal. Well if they paying that amount of money then they can have him, now way we should we be involved in paying that, those days are gone.
He would even consider going there (Malaga) and not be able to play until January. He is obviously not for us (if this is true).
I suspect Tony, Harry and co. will have learnt from the past, and will let a player in his 30's demanding silly money go. Didn't Benayoun start life with Harry at West Ham? Harry must know if he is good news or not.
He is just trying to force the situation saying that he has had a wonderful offer. Don't believe a word of it ... and neither should TF or Harry.
Exactly Totally. If he'd rather sit on his arse till January rather than play for us now, au revoir sonny.
good...F**K him dont want him despite as good as he used to be.... Dont need any more over rated pretend players.....we are good now...just 1 striker will be nice
Apparently Wally Downes has been seen ironing his shorts in the dressing room. Surprise emergency midfielder?
I dont think Malaga are in the money any more, I thought it all went tits up for them and theres no way they could afford 65k a week.
He can piss off, he wants to play from Malaga- but is a little perturbed by the lack of game time until January. As a result, he guesses he miiight as well go to QPR...as long as they're prepared to offer him a silly contract on silly money. I'd only have ever wanted the guy on a deal until the end of the season.
