Some welsh journo reporting weve made a late bid for Frazier in an attempt to hijack his move to Palace.

    Anyone happy with this?

Think he'd do just as good a job as borini wide in a front three. Would leave us with plenty of spare change tooo

I don't think we should have sold him in the first place

This could just be his agent using our name to get more money from Palace mind, who are supposed to be signing him today

"@TimPearsonMedia: I'm led to believe Sunderland have submitted an eleventh hour contract to Fraizer Campbell to trump #CPFC to his signature. Fee no issue."

    @TimPearsonMedia
Big day ahead for Fraizer Campbell as he must now decide what avenue to take his career down. ‪#‎CPFC‬ ‪#‎SAFC‬ ‪#‎LCFC‬

    Wow, that's a bold statement.

Personally i can see why one is worth 10m+ and the other is worth less than a million.

    David Bellion could run.

Or it could be a rumour developed by SAFC in order for Borini to pull his finger oot!

Scored twice as many goals from open play last season as Borini

You can't fault the lad's attitude, that's for certain.

If it came to it id rather take Campbell for a few million than blow the majority of our budget on Borini. We could then push more important deals through

Borini looks like a lot of money for an uncommitted player ...... FC is totally committed and has pace, something we're lacking.

Scoring goals in that Cardiff side couldn't have been easy, they were rotten at times tbh.

    I agree.

Quicker, runs just as well, and like Borini doesn't score enough to be seen as a main striker.

Small matter of £13million saved as well.

I dont think it is quite so dramatic as that, but in our situation Frazier is a very good alternative, I also don,t think he should have been sold quite so quickly after his long spell out, and he has shown he can score consistently, if not prolifically, at this level. However I still think there are more pressing problems within the squad than a new striker and these should be addressed first. We should pull out of the Rodgers Game Show now.

Campbell did play down the middle and Borini on the wing, so of course their goals scored will be different

I also don't think Campbell could play the role Borini played last year

Don't get me wrong, he's cheep, would add pace and depth. Borini provides two positions, up front or inside left and it is blatant that Borini would be sharing that inside left with Giacc again. I don't believe Fraizer can play inside left. He doesn't have the control to play inside, when he runs with the ball it's pace that beats people not skill and control. Poyet doesn't play with natural wingers either. So if we signed Fraizer we'd still need someone who can cover Giacc as he still can't be expected to to 30+ 90 minute games in a season, so we'd still have to sign an extra man. I'd take them both with them being completely different but the talk of one or the other is absurd as it will leave holes in the squad as they're completely different and have different 2nd positions.

I always thought FC was a great lad when he was here. Would welcome him back. Think he may choose not to return to a former club though. Palace most likely.
