I can't post a link to it from Facebook, but the front page of tomorrow's Racing Post is a beautiful picture of Frankel and his old groom "Sandy".

Outside flutter on Gouray Girl was the other bet at Kempton.

It looks like the 7.10 is loaded with pacy, priminent racers and they might just set the race up for those who run on late, and Gouray Girl is one of those such types having made never nearer late headway in listed company at Redcar when last seen.

Will take a look PN. Sandy is keeping a stiff upper lip, but he must be very sad at his famous pal's departure. However, Frankel's only four miles away at Cheveley.

Well, alright, TopClass, will have a punt, although wasn't expecting to have a bet this evening! :)

Oooh......a real boilover, that race, 50/1 SP* (I think) and 63/1 on Betfair! :emoticon-0104-surpr

    *Guess it was 33/1 SP.....

That is such a beautiful shot, you can see the affection on both sides.

Jongleur, good day! At £125,000 a dip, I'd expect him to be a bit more than "just one of the boys."
Let's face it, nine out of ten offspring will not earn £125,000 in prize money in their lifetime, and likewise any one from Frankel is odds on to be in that 90% bracket.
Good business for Khaled Abdullah but very bad for the idlerichchuckitawayers.
They can have me at 1% of that fee and I'll guarantee them an offspring- however long it takes (or however short!)<laugh>

Bollocks. If I had a mare worthy of being covered by Frankel (and 125,000) I'd be straight there. If he get's say 100 live foals at yearling stage and say 40 of those are Juddmonte and other 30 are owner breeders then only 30 will hit the market. Mine would be one and I'd probably rake in a lot more than 125k. Look at the STS average for this year. A mare to Frankel is a no brainer.

Tamerlo: <laugh> Good day to you! My stud duties finished a while ago, so no comment, but I did manage an 'in-foal', and was a very proud Dad of one little filly! She has grown into a real smasher, but I'm biased of course.

Seriously, this little thread was made so worthwhile by the beautiful photograph of Frankel and his longtime groom 'Sandy', put up by PN, and the nice video clip put-up by Janabelle too. My daughter is making me a proper picture of the former for framing. Will take a pride-of-place position in our living room. Can't wait for DVD on Frankel pre-ordered with Amazon UK and due early December!

If any of you have read Claire Balding's book, she talks about Mill Reef's groom who often went to visit the horse at The National Stud in Newmarket overvthe years. The horse would recognise his footsteps every time and call out to him.

I'm reposted the following from my Ask PN thread:

Some of the mares confirmed for Frankel (in no particular order)

    Midday
    Danedream
    Zagora
    Vodka
    Oatsee
    Alexander Goldrun
    Midsummer
    Binche
    Heat Haze
    Clepsydra

He will be limited to 130 mares, and to date 30 of the mares confirmed for him are G1 winners or dams of G1 winners.
