Just like last year, CRACKSMAN was awesome, hats off to JG for getting him back to his best for his last race, easily Frankels’ best offspring to date. Enjoy your retirement, you’ve deserved it.
Just got in and watched the replay. Typical Frankel with no gears . What a horse. Absolutely brilliant. What a shame he couldn't run in the Arc. And what a shame we won't see him race again.
A fabulous weekend in Frankel-land! All eyes now are on where CRACKSMAN will go to stud and at what price. My money is on either Darley or Cheveley Park here in Newmarket with a fee in the ball park of £30,000 - I’ve been told this morning that Roaring Lion will be offered at £40,000 though that could rise if he goes to Breeders Cup and wins.
On another note, I noticed our “dear” friend reappeared in the Racing Post Letters Page over the weekend and yet again he couldn’t resist the temptation to get a dig in at a Frankel
Haha yes a dig at Frankel and talking up New Approach for all he is worth. Leopard and spots springs to mind
First since Nijinsky? Unless the Derby is sub standard next year, there is no way Too Darn Hot will win the Derby. Lay of the year imo. Not even convinced he will win the Guineas but I wouldn't lay him for that
Thanks for posting "..swift move to lead over 2f out...... rider waving whip in celebration last 100yds". Whether a Frankel/Cracksman fan or not, that was super impressive Such a lovely horse. I love a strong powerful looking horse that covers the ground like he does. Probably the most underestimated horse around. I may be wrong but the dam side hadn't produced much prior to Cracksman, having gone to Dalakhani (twice), Sea The Stars and New Approach. So that says something. If he stands for 30k that seems a bit of an insult for a horse with his conformation and power. The pedigree on the dam side isn't the best so that would keep down the price tag I am the biggest Enable fan around and some here may recall me confidently hailing her as last year's Arc winner when she was 20/1. Also delighted that I saw her in the flesh on that Arc day and what an impressive individual she is. But, I always said that, as a 4yo, Cracksman would be her biggest competition and I think I chose him (last year) for this year's Arc. I still think this could well have been his year for the Arc, especially as Enable wasn't at her best. What a pair to have in the stable at the same time. So fitting that Frankel and Nathaniel should produce two stars
That was some maiden Ron, never tire of watching it. i also have been a big fan of Enable, best filly since Oh So Sharp for me, hope all goes well for her in the Breeders Cup Turf next month. The ground at this years Arc was officially Good, not Good to Firm, i believe Cracksman would have got very close if not won on the form he had in the Champion Stakes. I think JG talked AO out of running him citing the ground as unsuitable but it was said that Cracksman would run in the Champion no matter what the ground. Makes no sense.
FINCHE finished 3rd in the G3 Geelong Cup in the early hours and FAROOQ ran second in the Listed Geelong Classic on the same card. ROSTROPOVICH has drawn stall 8 in the Cox Plate where he takes on Winx!
