Having been Frankels first ever runner and winner i really hope he gets treated well as all horses deserve.
TDN published the current list of European Based Sires according to their 3yo crop. With his Derby win there's no surprise that New Approach is top of the list, with Galileo, Siyouni and Camelot coming next. Frankel is not in the top 15. If Without Parole wins today he'll get into the top 10, maybe top 5. Of course Cracksman winning tomorrow will make everyone feel better, but he's a 4yo so won't affect this list. Very disappointed by the PoW field as I'd love to see Cracksman properly tested on fast ground. The field doesn't make it much of a test.
They also published a Leading Sires Standing in Europe list in which he is 3rd by Black Tyoe horse’s, behind his sire and Dubawi. What shocked me the most was that, based on world-wide earnings, Dubawi is currently $6 million clear of Galileo!
It's nice to see Herculean might run this week, also i see Veracious is down to run on Friday in the Coronation with Frankie booked to ride. I also worry about Eminent, bringing him back so soon in a race like the Prince of Wales after his heart problem. I hope he runs well and be safe at the end.
Do you think the Gunthers would sell him? They did regret selling Justify for only $500.000 and turned down 650.000 euros for him.
So disappointed with CRACKSMAN’s run today I’m hoping he’ll bounce back, but he never looked at ease. Regarding Without Parole, I do think the Gunther’s will sell him, or at least his breeding rights. They can’t stand him in the US, the breeders there have no interest in a Turf miler.
I feel his Epsom run was his undoing, it took more out of him than JG thought. He can have a nice rest now till the end of July and hopefully he gets his mojo back.
Watched Cracksman in the paddock, he was very antsy from the outset. He just didn’t want to work today fullstop. Mind you Gosden did mention he got pretty excited and was shouting at the fillies as they passed from an earlier race. That would have taken his mind off work. And I didn’t see that amazing stride at any point. To soon after a dodgy experience at Epsom, I’d say.
A cracking day, winners in France, Britain and Ireland. Leading Royal Ascot Sire with 3 winners on the board. Happy days!
It was a good day, First Eleven was unlucky then we might have had a Frankel 1-2 GIDU, VERACIOUS, GANAYEM , QAZYNA , BETTY F and ROSTROPOVICH tomorrow.
