Whoops, must have been deleted. It was a Twitter comment saying Gosden’s unraced Frankel Colt MARACHEL NAY has reportedly been backed into 30-1 from 75-1 in places for the Derby. The horse is a homebred of Anthony Oppenheimer’s (ownercof Cracksman and Golden Horn) and is closely related to the latter, being out of a half-sister to Flèche d’Or, the dam of Golden Horn.
Thanks for that, i did read a list of Frankel 3yo who are entered in the classics this year and there are quite a few unraced colts and fillies.
RABDAN an impressive winner at Saint-Cloud this afternoon: https://www.racingpost.com/bloodsto...n-romps-to-stunning-win-at-saint-cloud/325843
ELARQAM was due to have a racecourse gallop at Pontefract tomorrow but obviously that now won’t happen due to the abandonment. Not sure if they plan on running him in a Guineas trial.
That's a shame, it will upset his planned preparations for the Guineas. I read that he was being prepared just like his dam Attraction who went on to win the 1000 Guineas.
Trying to get back into it again! This week’s entries (age of horse in brackets) Thursday BAGHDAD (3) - 1m4f Handicap at Wolverhampton EXTRA MILE (4) - 1m2f Handicap at Chelmsford Friday EXTRA MILE (4) - 1m2f Fillies Novice at Lingfield Saturday LA FIGLIA (4) - 1m Listed Snowdrop Stakes at Kempton COMMENTARIOLUS (4) - 2m Novice Hurdle at Limerick PURE COUNTRY (3) - Maiden at Nancy Monday LA FIGLIA (4) - 7f Fillies Novice at Wolverhampton
BAGHDAD 3rd at Wolverhampton this afternoon but EXTRA MILE has managed to shed her maiden tag at the 4th attempt at Chelmsford this evening despite still running green.
It was sad to see La Figlia struggle again, not sure she can get a mile, her best performance was over 6f, maybe they should see if she could be a sprinter but it just goes to show that 1.8 million does not guarantee anything.
Very true. I remember a very long time ago a $10million foal not winning a race. Can't remember the name though
