I know nothing about the Tabanou chap though. The reason for signing Ligue 1 players is that they're cheap, Ashley is a tightwad and Graham Carr seems to have set up a good scouting network in Europe.

Left winger apparently, I don't think there's anything in this.

Apparently we have a very good reputation in France over the way we handled the Ben Arfa situation. Can only be a good thing really if we get some talent from Clairefontaine!

He's a raw, pacey, skillful left winger who can also play left back. I follow Toulouse a fair bit and strongly suspect he'll leave this summer -- he's at times been their best player, and after Andre-Pierre Gignac's value and reputation decreased by staying at Toulouse one year too long, it's unlikely Tabanou will make the same mistake. He's been linked with a couple Italian clubs (Inter and Juve) and of course Arsenal; NUFC are only the latest on the list. I think he'd be a great buy for a club willing to be patient with him and let him play -- he leads Toulouse in cards but has a great attitude on the pitch and seems to take his job very seriously, despite trying hard to have a gangsta image.
