There was a huge outrage on here when it was leaked that the club were considering replacing Mowbray with him in the summer. Personally I was excited at the prospect of a young up-and-coming coach taking the reigns but at the end of the day "if it ain't broke don't fix it". However, it's interesting to see that Farioli's OGC Nice side are currently sat top of Ligue 1, above PSG etc. Maybe the men in charge really do know what they're doing, after all...
My take on it at the time was if he improves the team get him in. No loyalties from me, same with the players, get rid and replace if we can get better
Yeah, admittedly it was hard to say at the time whether he would be better. But it's starting to look like he may end up being "one that got away"...
what utter **** "I'm not trying to blame Storm Babet but training was pretty tough, because unless you train inside ... and a lot of professional footballers don't want to train inside on Astroturf where the weather is not an issue because of knees and hamstrings and calves"
Getting rid of Mowbray at the end of last season would have sent the wrong message. He did well and deserved another season. That bloke may have turned out better and many said the same when he was linked but also that TM didn't deserve to be replaced.
I said at the time it might be better to let Mowbray go on a high rather than with a majority of fans hating him, as it always ends up and it's beginning to head towards given the grizzling on here recently.
If Francesco farioli could have us in a better position this season then he must be a very special manager. Once again we are having to play a season without a proven striker. Another transfer window of signing kids with the task of readying them for men’s football. Im not complaining because I like the direction the club is going in. But people shouldn’t expect promotion. It took Brentford 5-6 years. If the club signed a proven striker this season then perhaps I’d expect a bit more. But for the cards TM has been dealt, I think he’s still doing an absolute fantastic job. We were never going to beat stoke with Alex Neil in charge yesterday, luckily gooch was only on the pitch 10 mins otherwise he would have scored just like every ex player I’ve ever known that has come up against us has.
Utter crap, we should have easily beaten Stoke yesterday, without the ref giving them a goal and us not having a decent game plan or starting 11 we would have won
Pay me what Mowbray is getting paid and I will let you know. Ba and Roberts would not be playing in the same side and I would have played one of the forwards (that he doesnt rate) I think looking at Midfield I would have moved O'Nien there and put Seelt in beside Ballard, it wasnt like he was going to be tortured by Stoke. Glad you were happy with the team and formation he played
I don't remember Farioli being mentioned when we hummed Southampton a couple of weeks ago. Must have missed those posts. For all Mowbrays faults that are mentioned after every defeat, the players yesterday pretty much to a man didn't play well, he can't change them all. As for bringing Seelt in, he's had hardly stood out for the u21's and unfortunately isn't ready for championship football at this time imo To many players well.below their usual standards yesterday
Seelt that struggled against derby u21's striker? Ballard and 09 struggled yesterday at times, so can't see the logic of throwing a you g lad that isn't ready in would help him or the team
Yes that one, is there another Seelt playing at the club? what is he going to do when Ballard gets injured or picks up another booking? It was the ideal opportunity
Apologies for not agreeing, the lad just isnt ready and as much as it's 'only stoke' our 2 first choice centre half's struggled as well yesterday
I had to drive for an hour at midnight, off the train in Edinburgh, so couldn't have a drink ... making up for it now So I'm struggling with the question of which proven striker we should've signed and which proven strikers promoted sides signed to go up. Seriously I'm interested and too drunk to Google it.
They struggled because we had bugger all in midfield. So when Seelt comes in undercooked, who is at fault for that?
You tell me, as I said yesterday our back up players are a lower standard to our first 11 same as most clubs in the world. We lost, we didn't play well. It happens with a young team
