Be warned O'Neill: Don't expect too much from Fraizer by James Hunter, Evening Chronicle MARTIN OâNEILL has cautioned that Sunderland must not expect too much, too soon from fit-again Fraizer Campbell. Former Manchester United frontman Campbell made his comeback at the weekend after a 17-month lay-off with knee ligament damage â and scored Sunderlandâs equalising goal in their FA Cup fourth round tie against Middlesbrough. The 24-year-old came on as a half-time substitute against Boro, and could be called upon to start tonight when Norwich City visit the Stadium of Light. But, despite his comeback goal, boss OâNeill is keen to point out that Campbellâs lengthy absence means it will take time for him to start firing on all cylinders once again. âItâs really nice to see him back and that has been a big plus. âBut donât expect miracles from him this minute â that would be the message Iâd give out to fans. âIâm so pleased heâs back and if he could remain fit and healthy for the next two or three months, Iâd be ecstatic. âFraizer could be fit enough to start tonight. He certainly got a major boost from the goal. âHe was a wee bit tired on Monday which was very understandable, even though he only played a half. âItâs a matter of easing him in, but at least heâs had some playing time now in the first-team which is so important.â Campbellâs return could not have been better timed, with on-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner now ruled out for several weeks with a broken nose and facial injuries. OâNeillâs other attacking options are teenager Connor Wickham and South Korean hitman Ji Dong-Won. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...-expect-too-much-from-fraizer-72703-30239682/
Maybe we should drop him if he wasn't working on all cylinders last night A good win and a good display and, let's not forget, we won our first trophy of the season. The Friendship Cup.
