I must admit that all of the targets that City fans have been dreaming about over the past few days Kebe/Sharp/Maynard/Stewart and many more will probably go to the Prem. I think that NP will have to do some master wheeler dealing to get the balance that we need in the side. I would like him to get some nice loans done and them perm at the end of the season if they have done okay, I also think that with huddersfield interested in SSL maybe we could do a swap deal for Jordan Rhodes.........

rhodes would be absolutely class. There is no room for beckford and a new striker though.

kebe i can see at us, and think he will- he hasnt been good enough this season for a prem club.

I thought that Bamba had publicly said to his manager not to pick him because he was afraid for his family after last time

That was back in September and since then he's gone on and played in subsequent Ivory Coast squads. However, they haven't yet named his squad for the tournament and considering that Cheik Tiote (who's also in the Ivory Coast team) was saying yesterday that he is leaving before the FA Cup matches this weekend, then you'd assume Bamba would be leaving at the same time but we haven't heard anything about him going. And if he were to go, it would have to be pretty soon because Ivory Coast are having a training camp in Abu Dhabi the week beginning the 9th of Jan and they also have a couple of friendlies so we'll have to wait and see.

Sol said he was considering his international future. Also we may lose Jeff Schlupp who is now a full Ghana international

Jeff Schlupp hasn't been named in the Ghana squad but John Pantsil has.

Good to hear for us any way

As for Pantsil i dont think we will see him again. When Pelts is missing Nigel went for Liam Moore which says it all really

Interesting reading the story about the Toure's, of course fellow Ivory Coast players, not being allowed to play the FA Cup match because they have to attend a team meeting in Paris on the Saturday before flying out to Abu Dhabi (the same day we play Forest) so I would assume, given we haven't heard anything about him leaving, that Bamba will not be part of the Ivory Coast squad.

With Kolo Toure returning from his drugs ban maybe the Ivory Coast wont need Sol Bamba

Sol along with Kasper Schmeichel have been our best 2 players this season followed by Nugent

Rather than trying to scalp the Prem-bound talent of the Championship, perhaps it's Premiership teams we need to look at, even if it's a loan. Another deal like Yakubu would be good!

I'm not sure there are that many out of favour, established PL players I can think of who would come to us. After all, we don't have Sven as manager anymore which was probably one of the factors that influenced Yak. NP as well (without wanting to pigeonhole him) will generally go for younger, hungrier players who are on the way up.

We have to remember Nigel doesnt have the same pulling power that Sven had, so the Yakubu's of this world wont give us a 2nd look

Don't think that's necessarily true. We're obviously a club on the rise. And most importantly, we can afford good wages!

    Fourth_Official on Foxestalk;

He says that we're still very much in for Stewart and that they're clinging on to him.

He also says that the deadwood is going to be cleared first (SSL, Johnson, Pantsil ect) before signing players.

    Not this guy again <yikes>

I think we should take what he and Bert and all the others say with a pinch of salt. Just seems to regurgitate what he hears on Sky Sports and in the papers etc. I think Stringer & Tanner are the only real credible sources we can take from Twitter.
