The latest news from Sky Sports sources understand that Everton striker Jermaine Beckford has joined Leicester - while the Foxes have renewed their interest in striker Nikica Jelavic.

The big-spending Championship outfit saw a bid for Beckford rejected earlier this month but returned to talks with Everton about a beat-the-deadline move

It appears this has proved successful and the Foxes have finally landed their man in a £3million switch.

Meanwhile, Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson is also believed to be considering a renewed move for Rangers ace Jelavic after having an initial £6.5million bid rejected.

Well we have finally got one maybe we will now get another:emoticon-0150-hands

Officially, it was a swoop rather than a pounce.....3-4 mill is a fair deal, no fitness issues, done it at premier level but can be difficult to handle though...anyway...nicky enjoy your relegation fight...what a loser....

I take it you're referring to how we told you Schmeichel wasn't as good as everyone thought after you signed him. That was the overall opinion of Leeds fans who'd seen him play 40 odd games.

As for Beckford, he is a quality signing. He does what a striker should. He'll score goals from every angle. Technically he isn't great though, and his first touch is lacking. But he has a bit of flair, scores a lot and makes great runs. Some Leeds fans will tell you he doesn't work hard, which means he didn't run around like a headless chicken closing people down, but that's because he is making the runs that allow him to score so many. Over 80 goals in 130 games for Leeds tells you everything.

Jermaine Beckford is a Muppet, he gave up some of his last peak years that could be spent in the Premier League for Leicester in the Championship, if he wanted Championship football wouldn't it have been alot easier to just stay with Leeds when he was promoted with us. He should of turned down Leicester and stayed in the Prem.

Anyway good luck Leicester fans, he can't pass, he dosen't run for balls, he's a lazy tw*t, he has the attitude of a 13 year old girl (he's been a prat with both Grayson and Moyles, usually when he gets subbed off and goes and throws a paddy). The only good thing about Jermaine Beckford is that he bags a sh!t load of goals.

If you play him anything BUT A CENTRE FORWARD he will be a massive failure because like I said he's only good skill is finishing and maybe vision to poach all the goals he gets, to be played out wide he's need to pass, run ect and you can pretty much rule that out for beckford. No but seriously he is the laziest, half arsed player you will meet, if he can't score for his team he is DEAD WEIGHT like towards the end of last season when he stopped scoring and was replaced by Max Gradel (oh and while i'm on Gradel, thanks, 5 million for a player we bought for 200k, minus add on's ect)

Lets get one thing straight. Gradel is hardly quality. Ive seen him on plentiful occasions and this is his level.
You will come to realise he is ****

Trust me. He is playing the best football of his life but wait till christmas and rate him 5 mil

    *hehe.

Ha ha! As a predicted, the first hate-filled Leeds fan to tell us how s*** one of their own ex-players are! Needless to say, we're delighted with the signing. Glad you made money on Gradel, to be honest you pulled a right Arthur Dailey, as the guy is w***. But he was still your best player.

... just what we wanted, an arrogant, quality forward who has a bit of an attitude, as long as he doesn't tick any of the players off in the dressing room we have ourselves a great signing, all our other strikers are too nice, need this sort of player leading from the front with something to prove, and a huge desire to get back to the premiership, just hope Sven can get the best out of him....

I reckon that's a good signing. 20+ goals if you sort your midfield out.

Great business for Everton, they got him on a free.

Leeds fans will be so annoyed. Well done!

    Thanks for Waggy.

I think Beckford is a good signing for the money you have paid - it's a signing designed to get you out of the Championship rather than him being a Premiership player if/when you go up.
I do think Nicky Maynard will score more goals this season - and having seen him play in 100-ish games he will score goals in the Premiership.
