Our game plan worked And no-one shirked And bar five minutes or so, One point at least Would have come east From yesterday´s tough foe We surprised me With much to see That was improved of late, Despite the loss I doubt the boss Will find much to berate To let one in Is not a sin When they´re on overdrive, Especially when Many wise men Had warned of four or five And on the play No-one could say We deserved such a fate, After so long Being so strong To concede one so late But luck does frown On those low down And shine on those up high, More oft than not When things get hot And we had no reply But had we made Our point, and played Out a good nought nought there, I have no doubt Many a pout Would soon have been a cheer And Tuesday night When we next fight Much the same will apply, To go and score A point or more Should more than satisfy. Yes well said. Had Jerome's header sneaked in as opposed to going past the post ........ That's the fine margins that befall us and from the MotD highlights, we acquitted ourselves well.
Hi bors, manager got his tactics right, unfortunately 89mins effort turned to nought at the last minute. He tried this formula after the Newcastle game and it worked, should persist with it to get us out of the doodah. Won't suit some of the perfectionists but we need every point we can get to stay in this league. No good scoring 4 and conceding 5, looks nice but same result as 0-1. If only Holty in his heyday had been there.
Spot on Norkie and I think the tactics were spot on - maybe start against Chelsea with Mbokani for Jerome and Jarvis/Vadis in place of Redmond.
Yep, much seems to have been made of that header, but I´ve seen far more glaring misses than that, from far, far better strikers than Cameron Jerome, and no doubt I will do again. Considering we made one of the stand-out sides in the PL this year look decidedly ordinary, and almost came away with a draw, which would have been entirely deserved, I´d say that was very uplifting, and certainly gives me much more hope going into these next few games.
Skald bor, I'm with you on that assessment of raising our hopes. Pity we did not adopt the same tactics against Villa. Our team is not noted for its mobility so I'm hoping the manager persists with his latest tactics. What have we got to lose, attacking play has got us where we are. We have to play to our strengths or in this case lack of mobility. How is missus, and the muttley.
Well said RBF Onwards we go whatever will be will be if they play with fight and conviction hopefully some luck will come our way
Ta NORKIE, rest of the family coping, but in order of well-being, Rex is leading the way, while the wife and me bring up the rear
