Those arent too bad really. Man U, sucks for the people going but its good for me Swansea, we wont have 2 games in 3 days now so it will lessen the chance of injuries Spurs, means a lay in for me and still getting home at a reasonable time. Scum, at least its not a 12pm ko which usually means a pants match. 130 is probably as late as the met would allow.
Getting to Manchester is a nightmare by public transport that weekend. Engineering works I think. Chelsea at 1:30 isn't too bad as the police may have been tempted to make it another midday game if it wasn't on TV. It'll be a hell of an atmosphere for that Spurs game.
Well annoying. Don't see why they are showing the Chelsea v QPR game on TV. I was really hoping for a Saturday 3pm game
That is just great I will be missing yet another game due to Sky any news on the Stoke game being moved yet for the cup final?
it would never have been a 3pm game anyway, would probably have been moved to midday again if it wasnt on TV.
Hes out for 2 months so he can make his comeback just in time to ensure the whole game is a sideshow.
It is for me, if I want to travel by train, I dont save a penny for booking months ahead, its the same price as on the day. A complete rip off for me.
It's pointless isn't it? But sums up Sky cynicism. There are far bigger games that could have been shown on TV for that slot. The Manchester Derby being one (potential title decider). WBA vs Villa (West Mids Derby). Wigan vs Newcastle (relegation vs 4th place contender) or even Stoke vs Arsenal which is always good for the viewers.
Surely the Manc game will be on in the 4pm slot?? Of the others, WBA and Villa will both have nothing to play for, possibly the same for Stoke v Arsenal the way they're going. Our game would realistically get better viewing figures than Wigan v Newcastle. People will watch on the off chance it gets a bit tasty.
**** sake! I told my sons that we could go to one away game outside London, and he said Man U. I hated going to the first one because I had to leave at about 10:30, now I'll have to leave even earlier for this one. Will my sons want to miss this one out. i don't think so.
Interesting that Terry is out since they played us and the Mail reckon he wasn't fully fit for that but wouldn't stand down so he could 'front' Anton. For him to make a comeback when we play them really would show him up for what he is...
Bitter sweet scenario for me.... The sweet part........I had almost booked flights last week for Dub to Manchester return on the Saturday and then drive to Limerick that night to be there for Munster v Ulster match in the Heinieken Cup quarter final. Saved flights money and no marathon traveling on Saturday. The bitter part.......both feckin' matches kick off at the same time!!!!!
WBA vs Villa is a Birmingham Derby though. Possibly the 3rd/arguably 2nd biggest in the West Midlands. Both are similar and IMO could still get dragged in. Stoke vs Arsenal is always a good one for the neutral, complete contrast in style and approach and it's actually the one time I'd eagerly anticipate a Stoke game. Wigan would never usually get large viewing figures but Newcastle would and it's a massive game for both clubs, one which you can't really predict the outcome of. Most people would watch Chelsea v QPR for the handshake if nothing else. If Terry or Anton can't play for whatever reason it would probably end all neutral interest. And Chelsea are going the same way as Arsenal and may well have nothing to play for
A total pain in the Arris for me as we're still 10 hours ahead.....Sunday night in the pub is a nightmare, and as for the 5:30 game..that'll be one that i record i think !!B-L-X..
