What a ****ing performance!! So proud of the lads, and it could have been more than 2-0! I said it last week, that the Wigan thumping could have been right at the perfect time, and boy was it! It's what we needed to keep us focused!

Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Didn't have to do a lot but made some vital claims and made a good run out early on to stop Chelsea getting in. His positioning was better today.

Perch - 9 - Superb today. Solid, won a lot in the air, has so much improved.

Willo - 8 - Some shakey moments, but he stuck in and buckled down and made some vital headers.

Colo - 8 - He looked very, very shakey early on. He looked like he was still at the DW stadium wondering wtf was going on. But he showed some fantastic skill. He's truly a brilliant CB. Great dribbling, good defending for the most part.

Santon - 9 - Awesome. Great assist, some fantastic runs, good defending in the air. Great performance. Brilliant goal line clearance to keep the result.

Tiote - 7 - Silly booking, but all round, his presence was vital. Some great pressure, there's no way we could have lasted 90 mins without him. Hope he's ok <3

Jonas - 7 - Not his best game, but some good defending, put in a good shift.

Cabaye - 7 - Great defensive work. Put in a good ****.

Ben Arfa - 9 - Absolutely fantastic performance. He was disciplined, covered Perch very well, had to sacrifice some attacking flair for a defensive and midfield shift, but he did it very well. So proud of how he's improved himself. Some amazing passing, great all round shift.

Ba - 7 - Worked very hard, so unlucky not to score. Cisse should have past to him as he was free in the box twice. So harsh. Good shift. Unlucky Demba.

Cisse - 9.5 - Just wow. Maybe others deserve the MOTM performance for their shifts, but come on, just two amazing goals, that were the difference between the two sides. He scores when he wants!

Raylor - 7 - Great pass and vision when he first came on. We could have had a goal from that move. Good work when he came on.

Shola - 7 - Some donkey ****e up front, but vital presence at the back to help see out the game, and some good work.

Ober - n/a - Wtf.

Overall - Very shakey first 5 mins or so, but we settled and we performed very well. HOWAY THE LADS!

I'm new to these threads..think they're great...awesome Toon performance tonight...really proud of how they've reacted from the Wigan game. I've never been as optimistic about the future of Newcastle United since the Keegan days...and even then we were more volatile at the back...just MINT, hope we stuff Man City and Everton... knowing our season though...anything could happen...still incredible league position relative to our pre season expectations...

Man of the match for me, but the difference tonight for me was we worked as team, Chelsea played more as individuals than a team, with the exception of Torres and Lampard they were poor.
