I found this from another site which I thought was worth a share. Its showing stats after 10 games. Obviously we have all now played 11 games so these stats were before the weekend. I have just taken some details from it but the link to the whole thing is at the bottom. The table: First off, letâs take a more visual look at the league table, which allows you to see the spread of teams in the division much more clearly than a standard league table. You can see how clustered the division is at the top, and how far adrift Telford currently are at the bottom. please log in to view this image Attack and defence activity: This graph shows the extent to which teams have dominated their matches overall, with more shots taken per match as you move left to right and more shots faced as you move up. Itâs best to be in the bottom right. please log in to view this image Attacking: Now letâs look at the attack in more detail. Average shots taken per match as you move left to right. Average number of shots it takes to score a goal as you move up. Again, bottom right is good, as clubs here are taking lots of shots and not needing many attempts to find the net. please log in to view this image Defending: Now letâs look at the defence in more detail. Average shots faced per match as you move left to right. Average number of shots faced before a goal scored as you move up. Now clubs should aspire to be in the top left: facing a low number of shots and being able to withstand a high number of shots for each goal conceded. please log in to view this image Club-by-club summary (I am just showing Rovers): Summary on Bristol Rovers:â After a poor start to life in the Conference in which they only won 1 of their first 5 matches, things look to be picking up for Rovers. Their uncertain start was partially due to an unsettled side â they made at least four changes in each of their first four matches and are still the only team to have fielded a starting eleven with less than half of the players who started the previous match. They appear to have adopted a direct style, taking a higher proportion of shots from headers (34%) than any other side in the league. http://experimental361.com/2014/09/17/conference-premier-the-first-10-games/ .
Yes I noticed we are pretty much in the same place. The way I see it that shows we are a consistant team We are busy in attack creating lots of chances but they are either of low quality or wasteful. We are also busy in defence allowing lots of chances to the opposition but are capable of repelling them.
if we can be just a little less wasteful and just a little more harder for teams to break down, then yes, we should make the play offs. DC said himself in todays interview that there is still plenty of room for improvement. as long as DC keeps his feet and the players feet firmly on the ground taking just 1 game at a time then we should keep improving. if DC or the players think we are better than everyone and think we deserve to go up being too complacent then we wont get anywhere near the play offs. DC strikes me as someone who has his feet on the ground. the players need to follow his example.
Fair comment, but doesnt it piss you off when he gives some these teams more respect than they deserve and they end up ****ing us over?
Interesting analysis. Looks like Barnet tick all the boxes. Kidderminster look strong too. Judging by the soft goals Lincoln handed us, I'm not surprised they are out there on their own...
yes. i have shouted at the radio several times when DC said in our away games that we need to show braintree a lot of respect and said the same thing about altrincham. you should have heard my language i was using. there is showing respect and there is bending over taking it royally up your backside and that is what DC and the team did. way too much respect. we should be showing the league respect understanding that there is really no easy game and that we need to work hard to win games but showing teams respect means to me that we are going to be concentrating on the opposition instead of concentrating on our own game. we should be making the opposition worry about us not the other way around. i am 100% behind you danny with this
Torquay seem to be right at the extreme... not sure what to make of that. It's a load of academic tosh really, but quite interesting!
they have started the season well. considering its very hard to get out of this league at the 1st attempt, they are doing well in trying to change this. and in all fairness so are we now.
I hope we are in the mix with them as I don't want to be in this league without them because I like a away day/ weekend down their.
So at the moment we're almost formidable, almost a constant threat and almost a busy attack and quiet defence... almost. That's pretty good!
Here is another stat I have found worth sharing. Not sure though if this is after 10 games or 11 gams. Keeper save count. please log in to view this image Here is another table. Its the percentage of chances scored against number of shots on target. 10% Torquay 12% Barnet 13% Macclesfield 15% Kidderminster 15% Grimsby 17% Woking 18% Bristol Rovers 18% Aldershot 19% Forest Green 22% Braintree 23% Halifax 23% Lincoln 24% Dartford 25% Nuneaton 26% Wrexham 27% Southport 28% Chester 32% Alfreton 33% Dover 34% Eastleigh 35% Gateshead 35% Welling 38% Telford 43% Altrincham Rovers came out at 18% meaning 82% of shots on target are saved which is pretty good. Look at Eastleigh near the bottom. 34% of shots on target go in which is nearly double the amount than Rovers. Their keeper only saves 66% of the shots on target. So I say next Tuesday, shoot on sight. Taken from the non league forum.
Here is another one I found..... After ten games... Essentials: -Team must have won at least four matches -Must have lost no more than three matches -Must have scored at least 15 goals -Must have a plus goal difference. -Must have won two consecutive matches. Nice To Have: (also from the first ten games)... -Three consecutive wins - 9 of the last 12 champions have done this -Conceded no more than 13 goals - 11 of the last 12 champs have managed this These stats were made in 2012/13 season. I dont know if last season follows suit but still interesting stats. Now considering these stats, we meet every one apart from scoring at least 15. We have scored 14. By this season follows suit, we are still in the running then!
