Why not? Not saying I agree with it necessarily but I'm not sure the idea is that bad or doing any harm. If it gets people involved and they make a lot of noise on matchday then I can't see the problem. The problem a lot of people seem to have with it is that El Prezzie backs it and encourages it.
Not a lot of people I know are fans was just judging opinion here. I thought we already had a name for our fans Greeeeeeen Army dunno why someone had to come up with a new one and Italian as well, tiz a bit Right Wingish for my liking too. Was there a reason behind FV? Also seems all too manufactured to me things like this in clubs tend to grow and develop not just get set up overnight. Still as you say it doesnt hurt anyone, unless someone trys to tell me what to sing or to pass a flag, just a bit naff IMHO. On a side note do we know which infants school got the honour of redoing the Argyle website?
There was a lot of talk about the naming of the singing section when it was first muted. Some people complained about the name being used pointing to the right wing parties who go with that sort of thing. I don't think the originator had thought it through and probably thought the name was "cool". But, the principal of a singing section does no harm although like you I don't want to join in. I'm better at shouting obscenities at the officials on the pitch for my contribution. I hardly ever go onto the official Argo website but I have read people's opinions and they aren't that impressed on the whole. The Beeb changed their format as well and I hate change when it comes to sites I do visit. I go all of a dither at technology.
The reason the BBC have changed their site is I presume because some anti-BBC philistine in the government [which one I can't remember Plymborn and can't be bothered to look up] decided that the Beeb website was encroaching into territory better served by commercial sites e.g. I presume, PAFC's site & others like it. Now I liked the Beeb site: although I'm a PAFC fan, I have a general interest in football and in other sports. I could get all that and a non-tabloid style at the Beeb. Now it looks as if he amount of information will be reduced: for example League 2 news stories [such as they are] don't seem to be linked back to the individual clubs now and they don't seem to be archived so you can look back at stuff you missed. I'm not a great fan of Big Government but the Beeb is one thing in this country that works exceptionally well. I wish they'd leave it alone.
I think they must have been singing Silent Night in the second half joe as it was very quiet. I do try very hard not to listen to be honest.
