Just read a tweet from ruben bover and it seems that fortune is still training with us anyone still want him? Hard training in the morning with @tosan26 Pritchard fortune and warren hopefully all of as back soon . A win for the team today #cafc
I've no problem with him training with us. I do however have a big problem with the mere suggestion that we'd throw him another bone. He could be the best player on the planet, but he's spending considerably more time in the treatment room than he is out on the green stuff. I therefore can't see the point retaining his services!!
Like Franco said: no problem training with us and helping him to find another club. It is the least we could do for a legend. First-team football? Not a chance.
Legend... really? No doubt he did a job for us for a bit, but i don't consider him a legend. Nowhere near in fact. Rufus, S Brown, Mendonca, Hales, Bartram, Deano... They're legends.
the luton game said it all for him really,he cost us that day with a very poor performance say the least his days i think are numbered at top level a good pro but should drop down a division or even go conference level not up to the standard anymore
good idea re coaching fortune could be youth coach or scout hes obviously charlton through and through we need someone like that on the touchline
Sorry Ponders... The old brain aint quite ticking over as it should be (pneumonia does nothing for clarity of thought that's for sure).
I think Fortune is still training with us as the injury happened whislt playihng for us, he was out of contract, and the club have a duty whilst he is injured to look after him from a moral standpoint, once he is fit I suspect he will need to find a new club, I cannot see him signing for us again.
Yes, he was very disappointing when he played for us last season, slow and off the pace, you presume the injury at Sheff Utd took its toll, as before he left us you would have considered him a solid Championship level defender
What a complete load of old tosh...! Injury is past and parcel of plying your trade in a physical sport.
