IF Norwich get promoted to the PL (currently 0-1 up at Pompey), would Forster be happy to go on loan there for one season before fighting Krul for the #1 spot? Ruddy doesn't look like a good keeper, even at Championship level. Forster could have a year first team in the PL, if he impresses it will be difficult not to give him the #1 spot. Then we'd have Krul and Harper for next season, Forster on loan ready for the 2012/13 season. Could be a solution to keep everyone happy. He enjoyed his time at Norwich last season and would get top level experience.
I want him as number one for us <throwatantrumsmiley> Though I would be happy as I would get to see him week in week out
Failing that I think Krul has done enough to get a loan to a Premier League club with Forster as back up. Would've been pretty cool if Forster had come up all the way with Norwich.
Would be great if it could happen. Norwich would probs want an option to buy, which we wouldn't give, so might not happen though. If it did, all parties would benefit: Norwich, who get a top-class keeper to try to keep them in the Prem. Us, as one of our young keepers gets a year of Prem experience with no risk to us. Forster, who gets another year of first team football, and some experience, at a club he likes.
Think he'd be 24 when he came back if he was on loan next season - at that age if we couldn't offer him 1st team action he may opt to stay at Norwich. If the loan deal happened that is.
I'd go with this, then at the start of next season pick Krul/Forster depending on who deserves it (i assume the other one would want to be sold)
Harper for next season, last year for him then choose between Krul and Forster. Looks like Krul's got the upper hand so Forster will have to play top level football next season to stake a realistic claim for the 2012/13 season.
Just asked the question on their board, they said they'd probably have him back but it would be harsh on Ruddy who's done very well this season.
I'd love to see him given a shot at Newcastle, local lad and apparently very highly thought of with in the club. I think we might find in a year or 2 both Forster and krul will be too good to be both kept at 1 club. A decision will have to be made on one of them somewhere down the line.
