Jóan Símun Edmundsson, who scored the shock winner for the Faroe Islands against Greece, was previously on our books and also played (and scored) for Gateshead.

The amazing 1-0 win puts the Islanders ahead of former Euro winners Greece, resulting in Ranieri being sacked by Greece this morning.

Good on them, must be a great feeling for them. And good on the lad.

Sorry times for Greece and Ranieri though. That's gotta hurt!

What is it with those Scandinavian islands punching well above their weight? Iceland just defeated Holland as well. That for me was probably the shock result of the competition so far!

Meanwhile Temuri Kestsbaia has resigned as Georgia national manager following last night's 4-0 thumping by Poland.

Meanwhile, Liechtenstein won (yes won) away (yes away) against Moldova - AND San Marino drew.

    Seriously, WTF is going on?
