Not 100% sure if this is true or not but just seen on twitter that Christian Benitez has died aged 27 following a car crash in Qatar. Weren't we linked with him earlier in the summer? R.I.P

We were supposedly bidding £9m for him a few weeks ago. He signed for El Jaish Sports Club on the 3rd of this month. Didn't even have time to get a squad number, poor bloke.
Think it's shocking that both the SSN and BBC websites have transfer stories and Bale news ahead of the Benitez article. For **** sake life is far more important than a ****ing transfer rumour! RIP Christian Benitez.
It was on twitter and I even made this thread before Sky reported it. Sky are more obsessed with unsettling Bale than life/death.
terrible, terrible news. Thoughts with his family and friends. It's things like this that remind you that it really is just a game, isn't it?
Sad news indeed. When i'm/we're getting wound up by WUMs (of which i include Real and Marca) i/we would do well to remember things like this and that it doesn't really matter. Fabrice Muamba was a big wake-up call to me (and i hope a few others) as to how little football really matters.
R.I.P. Always shocking when young, fit sportsmen die whatever the circumcumstances. Makes you feel very mortal.
