After reading the squad for next season thread everyone wants 4-4-2 formation. Do you think Powell will be a bit more tactically next year as we may not necessarily been seen as a top team in this division and possible play 4-5-1 away from home against the top teams like West Ham or something? I wouldn't mind playing a bit more of a defencive formation against the tougher journeys in the league.
I wouldn't want us to adopt a defensive formation against the 'tougher opponents' as that would assume we're not serious about wishing to take the league by storm. I do however (been banging on about it all season ) think a narrow 4-3-3 could be effective: -------------------Hamer------------------ Solly-------Cort-------Morrison-------Wiggins ------Stephens--Hughes--Hollands--------- ------BWP--Kermorgant--Haynes------------
The problem with the 4-3-3 is that I don't think BWP can play on the right or left side. We tried it in CP's first (half) season and it failed miserably. Obviously we have a much higher calibre of players now, but I think CP has his system which is a good balance between defence and attack. I agree with WWOCB though, I would hate to go to a ''bigger'' team and play defensively. We should play our game plan no matter what.
