Just thought I'd work out the table since new year (can't find one online). If my hurried calculations are correct, then there are three notable successes and three notable nightmares.

I think this shows that City are relying somewhat on points gained back in the autumn.

    Liverpool 14 38
    Chelsea 15 35
    Man City 12 29
    Everton 13 26
    Spurs 14 25
    Man Utd 14 23
    West Ham 15 22 (0)
    Arsenal 14 22 (-3)
    Soton 14 21
    Stoke 14 19
    Palace 13 18
    Villa 14 15 (-6, scored more)
    WBA 14 15 (-6, scored fewer)
    HCAFC 14 13 (-5)
    Norwich 14 13 (-10)
    Newcastle 14 13 (-18)
    Swansea 14 12
    Sunderland 12 11 (-7)
    Fulham 14 11 (-19)
    Cardiff 14 8

There's still 5 teams below us in that table, that are below us in the league table. The 2nd half of the season was always far trickier as well. We've done alright, plodded along steadily.

I'd have taken 14th at the start of the year. I'm not sure what your trying to say.

I wasn't really trying to say anything - the table was more about the teams highlighted than about City. I thought it was just worth a mention on the side that our tally of 13 points is well down on pre-Christmas form.

I do agree with Hat that our fixtures have been tougher this half, though, with the top teams mainly coming to the KC and the lower teams mainly hosting us.

Fair enough, West Ham's run is most surprising, I've not seen many of their games but what i have seen i'm not impressed with. They were awful against us with an extra man for most of the game. I suppose Pulis and big Sam have proved over the years you can do well playing ugly.

They have - but while I agree that West Ham have been turgid (but effective), Palace have played with so much vigour for the past 3 months. It's been as impressive as it has been surprising.
