I notice that of the current top ten in the form table, half the teams haven't lost a single game in the last eight games, us, Reading, Saints, Brighton and Palace. It's unusual for so many teams to be on unbeaten runs at the same time. Let's hope Palace drop off that list on Saturday.
did you notice that we & Palace have both won 2 and drawn 6 of the last 8 games? so this one has draw written all over it you would think. However, in the spirit of eternal optimism I think we will snatch a 1-0.
Think the loss of Zaha could be crucial. However, so could the impending loss of Rosenior and McKenna!
10 bookings is a 2 match ban isn't it? Maybe we should play Oli or Cairney in there test how they work before McKenna gets his ban.
2nd Sunday in April they stop giving a ban for 10 yellow cards and just give a strongy worded warning. I think we also have Evans on 8. That would just be silly. If we wait until he's banned then we have to play 2 games without him. If we test people out before we need to then we have to play a game or two without him now, and then another two when he picks up the suspension. Why choose to play extra games without him? Best thing to do is either have him pick up the booking when he's getting to be in need of a rest so that he only misses the game he was going to be rested for and one other, or if he's still on 9 cards ahead of Millwall rest him for that game as it's the last one before the cut off.
I'm not sure if it's changed, but there used to be a ten booking amnesty that kicked in around the 12/13th of April. Edit - I wasn't quick enough...
Hmm sense a bit of deja vu here, I think I remember you saying that to someone before, oh wait... I nearly forgot to remove the hook from your mouth
ZAHA(3 game ban) IS 100% OUT of saturdays game. Rosie and Mckenna are not. I know Mckenna is now on 9 yellows but not sure how many yellows Rosie(8 ?) has at the moment. If Mckenna can get through to the Lesta game then take a yellow card. We can manage against both Pompey and Coventry without him surely ? I would be amazed though if Evans, Rosie and Mckenna went booking free until the cut off point in April.
I didn't say which game I'd drop him for before though. With Evans on 8 (I think) as well we might be better off taking the option of getting McKenna booked. Last thing we want is to end up with them both suspended at the same time.
That can happen @ Lesta for me. I would suggest that we can manage without Mckenna for the Pompey and Coventry games that follow. Not forgetting that PM will be in need of rest by then anyway.
This is why I've been getting pissed of at all the soft bookings this season. We are one of the best footballing teams in the league, we hardly bother with any physical play and they're a bunch of honest lads who don't cheat. yet we always get treated like animals by refs, nearly every game we get 3 or 4 cards for nothing tackles, now it's all adding up and we're gonna lose 3 of our best players around the same time. You have to wonder, if we have 3 players in danger of a two-game ban, how bad must the likes of Leeds' situation be? Surely if we're being fair most of their team must be on about 10 yellows now? No thought not, just us.
