Since January 1st we have played in 34 premier league matches and managed 24 points. Averages out at 0.7 points per game. Bruce's post match interviews are becoming all the more desperate - you can detect the panic in his body language. I don't think Phil Brown's record was as bad as this
Thanks for that post Big Vern; without it, I would never have known that our form is currently not good and that we have a **** manager. I only hope a few more posters read it and have the scales taken from their eyes. We need more threads like this.
Don't mention it old chap. I am only too pleased to be of assistance. I remain your obedient servant Vernon.
I found it quite easy to add a game to the stats that were regurgitated around 40 times after last week's result. To save me seconds & remind me to give it some thought, could you post another interesting update next week. King regards.
Question manager on current form you mean ? Thankfully the senile old cu nt we have as Chairmen most probably thinks we are sitting comfortably in mid table and play Arsenal town at home in the cup. Brown out.
All jokes and sarcasm aside... That is a shocking stat and I do find myself getting more and more worried about survival this season. On our form this year, we will more than likely go down. Something needs to change, whether its some new tactics from Bruce, a new formation, new players? or perhaps, dare i even say it, a new manager...
Don't worry Polly old bean. The current place in the league table is all smoke and mirrors. We are currently top four Vernon
My expectation for the season was a slight improvement on last season. People can't be that naive to think in only our fourth season in Premier League in our history we wouldn't be involved in a relegation fight? We've had a hard run of fixtures this season. We've played the top 8 from last year, 5 of them away.
I do find it amusing when the people refer to Bruce as our best manager and the current team as the best team ever. While they might be the most expensive the results don't back this up. I'm trying to keep the faith though and hope both manager and squad live up to expectations.
Without a doubt he is our best ever manager, although a reasonable argument might be made that the team are not living up to their billing. It can also be argued that the best ever can lose appeal. We are all trying to keep the faith, personally I do that by trying to understand what is going right and what is going wrong. I think the team will come right when Steve Bruce does.
6 years ago we were in 6th, so not sure how Bruce took us to our highest position. If you're talking about final position we finished 16 last year - a massive 1 place higher than Brown. As for the FA cup we had a fairly easy run and still struggled to get to the final. As I said, I have faith that we can survive, but I can't honestly say that Bruce's management has left me overly confident.
Could the Sunderland fans have been right all a long? We took some stick on our own board for our opinions based from our own experiences.
Our form wasn't too bad until November. Don't care about our form was like last season, because that's irrelevant now. Just staying up was what was required. The cup final & Europe has made City fans get ahead of themselves- thinking we're better than we actually are.
Not if he's lost the dressing room, could outline where he started to lose it, if he has. Somethings not right. It's either his tactics or the players. Which is it?
Not saying it isn't possible that he has lost the dressing room. I expected to lose the games we have, to be honest, apart from Burnley. It's just so happens we've played the likes of Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea etc all at once. Last year they were more spread out. Before November we looked comfortable.
