Seems hes forgot who he plays for..... Have a listen to his interview on SSN. When talking about Arsenal he speaks as if he played in the game and is still at Arsenal. Clearly shows Arsenal will always be his club alongside Barcelona.
I've always maintained that Fabregas has always loved the club and always will. Same with Thierry Henry!
He loves Arsenal a lot. Like he said he spent 8 years of his life here. Sadly for us he has another club that he loves equally if not more.
I hate to rain on your parade friends but ( and I'll admit that I'm still smarting a little ) Cesc Fabregas sure had a funny way of showing he loved us that much. Well, perhaps he did but he definitely loves Barcelona more. His contract had three years to run and given the dire state we were in and only just hopefully climbing out of, he could have stayed. I doubt very much if in staying, his return to Barca would be jeopardised either. In going, not only has he denied us an opportunity to build the club with him but the manner by which he went also resulted in our getting a transfer sum less than what it could have been. At least with Thierry Henry, his time with us had drawn to a close and he had also given us his best years. Throughout he never made any secret of his love for the club but at least he gave us his best, something we haven't quite had from Cesc since if seasoned observers are anything to go by, his best will be more evident over the next few years to come. That said, I'm not too sad he's left. It may have given us a chance to regroup for the longer term ( if we spend the money quickly and wisely ) so for that, we have him to thank. And I do wish him well and hope he doesn't score against us when Barca and us do meet. Well, he can hit the woodwork in both halves and in extra time ....
Maybe hes just adjusting and still feels Arsenal are his team? Anyway, the above poster is right, he could of handled the whole move better......but.....so could Arsenal/Wenger. It became a comedy show that was lacking the all important punchline ( that means its not funny ). £35million is also way to little, considering Barcelona ( who seemed desperate to get him ) are not even paying the whole lot at once ( CL/LL winners cant afford £35million at once, come off it! ).
Come off it, Arsenal would never have got much for Fabregas. Barca knew that he wouldn't join any other club so they didn't need to pay what he should be worth.
You're right, we got totally ****ing mugged over Fabregas. But he only wanted to go to Barca, so basically our negotiating hand was completely tied behind our back. He was worth at least £50m and probably more like £60m
How did we get mugged over Fabregas ??? didn't we steal him from Barca in the first place ? Thats £35m profit thanks to our skullduggery
The deal for Fabregas is reportedly: £40 million (including the £5 million if Barca win 2 la ligas and a CL within 5 years - which they will) +First refusal to buy the player back +50% of any sell-on fee should we choose not to buy him back So we have the choice of getting a quality player back at some point in the future or getting even more cash for him. He is the sort of player that even at 30+ will take in £20 million as transfer fee. So i'd say we will have atleast another £10 million to come from this deal. There are loads of possiblities of how the transfer will ultimately end but £40 million + other options is a good deal tbh when you consider he only wanted to go to Barca.
