Look this is all in my head, well the conspiracy theory is, but while we argue about Bruce in or Bruce out, are we missing a bigger picture? Not long ago we had a 5 year plan, a magic carpet, Keane was gone because he did not get on with Short, we heard but not to worry, we had a man we wanted, on came Bruce. Bruce was the man to the fact he was offered and signed a new long term contract, love him or hate him the power backed him, then. Bent was gone, was it Bruce who wanted rid because of his daughter, Quinn who wanted rid because he would not pay or Short who wanted rid because he would not sanction more pay. We had players on loan and Bruce said he wanted them all. Welbeck he could not have but he could have Ned, why did he not. Gary Bennett said on Radio that we had a world class striker lined up in the summer, he wanted to come, a deal was agreed but the powers would not sign it off. Deadline day and Quinn is missing, tying up a deal, what deal. Then Bruce says on a Friday that all is well with Gyan, on Saturday we hear he is gone, did Bruce know or was it done behind his back, or at best was he told and not asked. We hear rumour that Quinn is moving aside and a new man, a Short man, is coming in. Then we hear that Quinn is lined up to move to City. Is it all smoke and mirrors or is there a link, this worries me far more than Saturdays game.
A short man you say syd. Maybe Kevin phillips im sure we can coax him away from those donkey lovers and we could have the second half of the deadly duo to try and steer us to glory.
Who knows Syd but they better get the fooker sorted out soon or we will be deep in the ****ola. I don't think its a problem with cash per say, they were happy to fund an £8 million move for a teenager to sit on his arse.
Look, if Quinny decides to move on we cant get all maudlin about it. The club was here for 128 years before he came as Chairman and it will be around for that length of time after he goes. Quinn isn't going to make the team play better, only the manager can do that. Might not this short man (you beat me to the joke r&w4life) bring a better professional edge to the club and with it maybe a better quality manager than Quinn can attract. After all his 3 picks so far have hardly raised the profile or the standards that much so far. I love Quinny and dont necessarily want him to go but its not concerning me at all to be honest. If a Short appointment comes in and appoints Carlo Ancelotti (or a similar quality replacement for Bruce) would anyone still worry? I'm not saying Ancelotti is coming BTW before the WUM Scum come on here chirping on.
I agree Cest that if Quin or indeed Short go we will survive, I just dont like the feel, a new manager is one thing but I just feel its a bigger problem. BTW I was surprised to see Short sitting next to Quinn last night, late on a Monday evening just surprised me.
Think you are reading too much into. Gyan deal caught Quinn off guard never mind Bruce - thought that was settled by Quinn's statement on the club website? Bent asked for more money, we couldnt give it (up coming financial fair play rules, wage structure and all that)
In the harsh light of day I would be more worried with Short bailing out rather than Quinn. We keep getting told football is now a business and there is no room in business for sentimentality. I just want what's best for the club at the end of the day. Not sure if I want a yank at the helm though making football decisions, would rather have a Brit or European with a solid background in the game.
