Away from the latest boardroom shenanigans we have an actual football match today against Forfar in the league cup. Rangers consider squad options Rangers manager Ally McCoist has a number of selection problems for their Scottish League Cup tie against Forfar. Trialists are not permitted to take part in the competition, meaning all eight new signings - who cannot be registered until September 1 under a transfer embargo - are unable to feature in the first round tie. Cammy Bell, Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, Arnold Peralta, Bilel Mohsni, Jon Daly, Steven Smith and Richard Foster are all ineligible, while Emilson Cribari, Ross Perry and Kyle Hutton are injured. Forfar could hand former Rangers defender Marvin Andrews a debut against his old club at Station Park after the 37-year-old was passed fit following an ankle injury. Gary Fusco is also in line for a start with Chris Templeman included after a knock, but Darren Dods is a doubt and Michael Dunlop is suspended. Loons boss Dick Campbell welcomes the challenge of playing Rangers, he said: "This is a great game as it will be a terrific test of our new-look squad. "Rangers looked good against Albion Rovers on Sunday but I want our players to show what they can do." As my shamelessly plagiarised article from some obscure website states we are really short of players for today's fixture. Hopefully the Lord abandons big Marvin just for the day, it's good the big man has a club all the same. With any luck the youngsters will have learned lessons from last season and will help navigate us through to round two.
Should still have enough to see off Forfar though . Would like to see Heggarty get a run out at CB probably alongside Jig . Mibbe get big Marv to talk to his pal and get him to deliver us from evil .
I thought Heggarty looked pretty decent last season. I hope the boy McAusland gets a run out as well. I thought he played well last week.
Ye I was impressed with Heggarty as well . He played every position across the back four . I don't think he played in any pre season games so maybe hes injured or has left . McAusland has been pretty impressive too . I hope the kids continue to get a run out this season . I would rather see them play than the likes of the hasbeens we have on trial at the moment .
Absolutely. I don't think we need to sign anybody else at the moment. It's going to be hard for the kids this season as he has brought in some decent guys this time to be fair. Law looks the part and that was a smashing goal the other night from the Honduran boy. I actually think Black will get his act together this season too. Hopefully this won't impede the progress of some of them. Mind you it will be kind of hard of Coisty to ignore folk like Lewis MacLeod who in my opinion has the potential to be a fantastic player for us.
Totally agree . We have more than enough to coast the league and probably make a decent fist of the cups . Even at CB which is probably our weakest area I think Billy will be good for Cribari . I know people slate him but I quite like the Braziliant . Yes he's slow as week in the jail but he reads the game well and his distribution is good . Macleod right now should be the first name on the team sheat . He has been outstanding fpr such a young player.

That was a terrible result for us today. We really needed to get a cup run together. I don't know at all how the game went, but the score annoyed me. I'm almost beelin, but not quite there yet. It's only the wi fi that consoles me.
