Force India unveiled a striking new colour scheme as it launched the VJM08 on Wednesday, which it hopes can challenge for podiums with regularity in 2015. The car was officially unveiled by Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg at an event in Mexico City at the same time the team released official pictures of the car. The new colour scheme is predominantly silver and black, with shades of orange, which is the second year Force India has chosen a dark livery. During the launch the team said new features included a revised rear suspension lay-out and modified sculpting of the sidepods. Of note was the VJM08's wider nose, a contrast to the images of the Williams FW28, released earlier on Wednesday. The new car will not debut until the second winter test, with Force India set to run its 2014 car at the Jerez test which begins on February 1. Team boss Vijay Mallya said he hopes the VJM08 can build on the success of 2014 and help Force India fight with the teams at the front of the grid this season and confirmed the team has moved to a new wind tunnel in Germany. "The 2015 car is a refinement of what we learned in 2014," said Mallya. "Another major step forward is the technology change, in that we are now using a 60% wind tunnel in Cologne, Germany which is a far bigger step than we have ever taken before. Traditionally we have been in Brackley where we used to develop our car with a 50% model and an outdated wind tunnel. "With this new and important tool available to use we hope the 2015 challenger will really prove its worth in competing with the big boys of F1 when we start the European season. We are lucky to have two exceptional drivers who will hopefully steer the Sahara Force India challenger to the front of the grid, and hopefully a few podiums during the current year." please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Nose isn't too bad, but I'm not sure I like the colour scheme, in fact I think I dislike it... Maybe it'll be a grower.

I quite like it to be honest. I'm glad that they've got rid of the "yeah-we-just-stuck-it-on-afterwards" nose from last year!
Not sure how much the actual car will look like this though. This car appears to have a beam wing, although given the FIA I assume the rules are full of holes
Well I like it, but from above I'm not sure how easy it will be to distinguish it from a McLaren, assuming they don't change their livery. The nose isn't as offensive as previous years, so that's a bonus. I just hope its fast enough that they can challenge for podiums.
Strong lineup as well. Going to be another crazy season. Hoping Mclaren go for a strong red and white so we can distinguish.
Looks like a McLaren which probably confirms McLaren will probably change colours. I'm sure they call up each other to make sure they don't clash on their night's out. Is that marrusias nose?
This livery is a mess. It looks like Vijay designed it himself to save money. I hope they spent all the cash on a pair of better cars.
What a shame Force India and McLaren weren't comparing notes, eh? I believe that with Honda's return, they expected a significant change in McLaren's livery. As it is, to me the orange is even more reminiscent of McLaren than the red used on the McLaren!
Which I suppose is related to this story as well. Seems FI are really in a mess. Tobias Grüner AMuS @tgruener 10h10 hours ago Force India has to delay planned China aero upgrade to Bahrain. Package includes frontwing, brake ducts & side deflectors. #F1 #AMuS
