According to Joe Saward, there are rumours coming out that Vijay Mallya is selling his shares in Force India. Could this be why their driver line up for 2012 is being held off until Christmas time?
Could this tie-in with the comments earlier in the season about Indian businessmen looking for a way into F1?
I thought that the reason for not announcing their drivers next year is because they are still deciding between Sutil and Hulkenburg, but the failure to sign Di Resta is intriguing. Even if Di Resta is still speaking to Mercedes, why would the earliest announcement be in December? The logical thing to do is sign him as soon as a Mercedes deal becomes unavailable. It sounds like this Subrata Roy is willing to sign a driver because of their nationality rather than talent. For that reason I hope Mallya stays in F1 - he would never work with a liability like Karthikeyan.
The story has been dismissed by Vijay Mallya. Source: http://www.google.com/hostednews/uk...0C7fqPes4olQ9ybgw?docId=N0816611317985334869A
A few years ago I would of seen this coming but I thought they have been doing well recently (Financial wise)
