UTD still richest sports club in England valued at £1.98bn (5th in world) City at £890m 29th Chelsea £877m 31st Arsenal £839 36th With RM top of the pile worth £2.08bn
Spanish clubs' valuations are inflated because of their dominant position with TV revenues and CL qualification from La Liga. Makes future revenue more certain and hence the capital value is higher (as anyone wishing to buy would pay a premium for this). English clubs carry more uncertainty because they can't control TV revenues in the same way, nor is CL qualification guaranteed with six or more teams capable of a top four position. Utd's valuation on that basis is remarkable. More than twice that of the next English club.
FSG paid £300million. They have more than doubled their money despite the fact that Liverpool aren't in the CL and are unlikely to be again in the near future without spending £150million. Why would they gamble half their profits when it's all ticking along nicely as a business investment?
The club has developed the area around the ground, training and youth complexes etc, has a bigger fan base and is able to raise greater revenues. These capital values are based on what you would notionally have to pay to buy these clubs by reference to their infrastructure, fan base, revenue, potential for future revenue etc.
I was going to suggest that Chelsea also have some issues around the ownership of their ground, but the same is true of City, isn't it?
Got a link? It'll be interesting to see how they worked out the price. Going on share value Arsenal were worth more than £1billion in 2012, three years later in a healthier position you'd imagine an increase in value. The Emirates stadium alone is worth over half a billion. Still it'd be an interesting read if you have a link!
They made most of their revenue up thats why. Chelsea didnt. Citys books are without question the most fabricated documents in the world.
Clever? Dodgy more like. They seem to think they have a free run now and FFP Is dead. Despite PSG already being warned and told they must break even and hit targets. City will end up ****ed again.
