Just seen that NUFC have secured 18th place on the global list according to Forbes.

Real Madrid are predictably at the top, but NUFC are gauged at being "worth" $349m or around £230m.

Not sure what to make of it all. Sickened is probably the most apt word.

Knock £50m off easily when we get relegated. Hopefully, if we survive, then the scare will be enough to make Ashley sanction improvements. Not convinced though, 17th or above is the aim, if we secure it then we can expect more of the same next year and get to listen to other fans tell us how lucky we are.

 

Exactly right. With 11 games left, paying lacky Carver at a knockdown rate to get a few points to make it absolutely certain seemed a safe bet. Now Ashley's probably sweating, and he can blame nobody but himself.

If we stay up, we'll just plod on doing the bare minimum again, and will most likely be in exactly the same position next year. Whether we go down or up, we need a clearout of the ****e infested squad, because a significant proportion of the squad aren't good enough to play football in the championship, never-mind the premier league.

If Jonas, Raylor, Williamson, Anita, Riv etc are still here next season, jesus h christ.

 

In normal circumstances, this would be seen as a good position to be in for a well run and ongoing competitive and ambitious Football Club.

If only Ashely could see past the end of his nose and see the opportunity he's missing with this Club.
So if the value of the club is circa £230m, and you throw in the debt, he'd probably want in the region of £350m to sell.

 

Sadly, I think 18th position might become a familiar thing to get used to this year. Let's hope not though!

 

Totally agree with your post re: end of his chubby nose..but isn't the debt owed part of the club valuation? ie its included in the valuation, rather than an additional cost? (not an accountant, never wanted to be one..even if they offered an interesting hat with lion tamer written on it)

 

I think debt is set aside for valuation purposes.
It's purely on the estimated worth of the asset.

 

Don't forget Man Utd owe hundreds of millions as do Liverpool etc....

We could then appoint me as President in the Barcelona style for the first 10 successful and glorious years. Has Beanie could be Press Officer. Obi could be Down and Out who sits at the front door begging. JPF could be Secretary and Rule Maker. Less Than could be tea lady ( well look at how he treated me in his Game.) TGE could be Contract Negotiator. Jak Attack could be Overseas Scout. BRS could be Discipline Enforcer. .ACS could be Light Refreshments Provider.

Also need to work out who gets the £1/2 Billion that we are going to be paid to take over Man Utd.

Clearly, as President, I would have to take half of that for entertainment, travelling, expenses, holi...anyway necessary expenditure. Obi can have a fiver and then there is just the balance to divide.
