Gus the messiah seems to have come off the rails.

Would you swop him for Alan Pardew?

Would you have Steve Bruce back?

    Would you sack Gus?

Not a piss take just interesed.

I think SAFC fans still have a lot of feeling that MON should have bene given more time.
MON proved over a period of time what he can do at Celtic and Leicester and wasn't far off getting things right at Villa.
I personally think he wasn't given enough time.

Think you're being a bit unfair to Poyet. He inherited a dysfunctional squad full of players with no premier league experience who he had had no say in selecting. Sunderland were, I think, bottom of the table. No one can have really expected he was being hired for anything except the following year's promotion campaign. Sunderland are now 3 points off safety with 2 games in hand. They have a perfectly real chance of staying up. Despite a disappointing result or two, it would be wrong to regard Poyet's performance so far as anything other than a success.

As for a swap with Pards, Pardew has shown himself adept at managing a club with the particular restrictions which Mr Ashley imposes on him. There's no reason ot think that he would do as well with the completely different set of problems Poyet is facing, or vice versa. As for Bruce, don't be daft man

    No, no and no.

Bruce tends to do well for a season or two then does badly, Mon looked past his sell by date, pdc although entraining was completely unhinged. Every season every manager has has to completely overhaul the squad, while also having players that aren't all that on big contracts. The amount of money on transfers and wages and turnaround of staff both playing and managerial shows poor decisions all over the place.

You can't blame!e poyet for the culmination of years of this. What he does when he gets a go at overhauling the squad will determine whether he is any good or not.

As for swapping with ap, there are plenty of people around his level, and wouldn't want the attention he brings I.e.headbutting, pushing a lino. He seems solid enough though

This isn't the period when he goes to the River Teams to pray is it?

He could always jump in to cool down, but I seem to remember there was a lot of floaters in it.

    reminds me of Lord Haw-Haw

William Joyce, aka Lord Haw-Haw, was a notorious broadcaster of Nazi propaganda to the UK during World War II. His announcement 'Germany calling, Germany calling' was a familiar sound across the airwaves, introducing threats and misinformation that he broadcast from his Hamburg base.

In 1945, Joyce was captured and returned to Britain, where he was later hanged for treason. This collection features some of his broadcasts and interviews with those who knew him. Wartime documents reveal the fear caused by Lord Haw-Haw and how the BBC worked to counteract his propaganda

I can just imagine him with a microphone from his Pennywell base

    It's 3 no's from me.

Gonna be a mass overhaul in the summer, no matter which league we are in. The state of the squad is a ****ing joke. 7 players with contracts running out, our best players are all loanees, and most of the rest are ****.

During his time he was fortunate enough to have some good players, Gary Rowell being probably the one most would pick, my favourite Shaun Elliott, then there was Stan Cummings, a good keeper in Chris Turner, even Barry Venison played his part.

Compare them to some of the utter crap in todays squad.

Oh, it's ok I've just found out.

Clark moved to Newcastle's local rivals, First Division club Sunderland, in 1997, and was part of the side promoted to the Premier League in 1999 as champions with a (then) professional league record of 105 points. A year earlier, he had been a key player in the side that reached the First Division play-off final, only to suffer a penalty shoot-out defeat to Charlton Athletic after a 4–4 draw at Wembley.

However, at the 1999 FA Cup Final he was spotted with the Newcastle fans wearing a t-shirt with the slogan "Sad Mackem Bastards". He was immediately dropped from the team, and never played for Sunderland again.

Better than he was given credit for, plus he always gave 100% and played with his heart on his sleeve.
