Perhaps we should have parked it in front of the back 4. Couldn't have done any worse

I would say being 1 of 8 winners in history makes England a big team yes.

Hmmm. Applying that logic to the top tier in Scottish football, there are 11 past winners. 'Big clubs'? The defunct Third Lanark? Dumbarton? The mighty Kilmarnock won the title in 1964/5, round about the time england got lucky in the WC. These day, I think Kilmarnock are the more dependable & consistent team....

    ..... and they're shiite too!!

You are getting confused by mixing scotland and football in the same sentence. <ok>

Nope. Ranked 22nd by FIFA & look like we're 22nd. Perhaps you're confusing england with football. They certainly don't seem to live up to their ranking (which I suspect will plummet at the next release).

I lied. Apparently we dropped 5 places at the last rankings to 27th (1 place above Costa Rica!). england are currently 10th. Wonder what they'll drop to?

Those rankings mean nothing, Switzerland who are 6th <yikes> currently being stuffed and completely outclassed by France (17th)

I sometimes wonder whether it would be better to be Irish or Scotch. Is it better to constantly qualify for the World Cup finals and fail to win ? Or better never to qualify at all (or hardly ever).

As an England fan I'm guaranteed to feel crap every four years as we inevitably crash out of the world's greatest football competition. Whereas the Irish and the Scotch are guaranteed every four years to feel the euphoria of England being beaten eventually, it's what they live for. In essence they win the world cup every four years (anyone but England).

I'm glad you agree with me Eireleeds1. It's refreshing to see an Ireland fan that's in touch with reality. You've already accepted that Ireland won't be there. You know it makes sense <ok>

Been on the beer jimmy ? well lets start with your stupid ranking,If they added 100 we would be getting close,32 teams better than you at the world cup,4 better teams that lost the European play-offs for the world cup loads of teams all over the world that got nearer and lost in play-offs.Then the statement about England not living up to their ranking.Recent cup exits Germany and Italy both higher ranked teams, this time lost to Italy and Uruguay both higher ranked teams. So not being a jimmy it looks like they are living exactly up to their ranking.

No matter how you try to mighty or TC it, the fact is England were the worst team and most over rated team in Brazil. In your world chesh, you're obviously happy with Woy and his clapped out bangers
