fleg protest to go ahead in George Sq on Saturday.

Had my next two weekends planned out and this Saturday involved taking my eldest to the skating and shows at George Sq before going to the game, meeting up with said daughter and missus and going to the cinema (other kids at their gran's).

That's the first bit ****ed <doh>

    http://local.stv.tv/glasgow/205573-...city-hall-union-flag-row-planned-for-glasgow/

    ******s.

According to this piece, they haven't even applied for permission.

Be careful on your way to the St Mirren game if you walk through the Merchant City/High St area.

I was told by a "Medro" once that of you fly any flag in the UK the Union Jack must fly beside it

I think less than 20 people will attend, you should just go about your day as planned.

It'll go one of two ways - 15 or 20 SDL and CXF bams will be there, get surrounded by polis and the worse that'll happen is some shouting, or...

...cos it's been organised on Facebook (without official permission sought), it'll end up like the Kelvingrove fiasco.

We've already changed plans now - After the game, I'm gonna get a bus to Braehead and go to the cinema there. It's not worth having kids with you near anything like this just in case.

Next Saturday, I'm taking the two eldest girls to the game and I'll let them go ice-skating and that before it <ok>

SDL held a demo in St Enoch's Sq in the summer too.

Posted stuff on an anti-fash page on a social network I frequent saying the GB should come and stop them if they were up to it.

    So they held it...

    ...during a Celtic home game<doh>

SDL got to claim the GB "never turned up" and a load of muslim women got shouted at - there were more polis than SDL.

If that's the folk turning up on Saturday, it'll be a washoot - usual dafties. I reckon all this needs, though, is a couple of lodges or "flautists" turning up and an assortment of teenage hanger-on dafties and it'll kick off.

Using George Sq is annoying for two reasons - one, cos it's a public space that attracts families at this time of year and, two, cos it's been the site of so many historically important demonstrations in Glaswegian history.

MTS, I've not been on for a bit and you've changed your avatar.

Anyone managed to link it to the Ibrox disaster yet?

I thought it was an awful pity of Ballinamallard, a small Protestant village whose team has just been promoted this season to the
Premiership in the wee six. On Saturday they hosted for the first time Linfield and the poor home side who had to search hard to
gather a team fit for purpose and in doing so had to sign quite a few Catholics.
At the half time interval their pitch was invaded by people dressed in parts of Sevco strips and adorned in Butchers aprons. Now one
of the problems the spectators had was they didn't know whether this was part of Sevco's 140 day birthday bash or was it part of the
loyalist protest at Sein Fein voting for the Union Jack to be hung at Belfast City hall to commemorate the Queen's birthday and I think
sixteen other "famous" British days. Any way you will be delighted to know the police stood idly by and made no attempt to speak to
any of the protesters/celebrates , apart from friendly greetings.
