Are there any jockeys that seem to hate you?

Richard Johnson - Champion jockey. Seems to ride a fair few winner....UNTIL I bet on him, then he is more like a chumpion jockey.

Jamie Spencer and Ryan Moore are two others that seem to have more than a few winners.....UNTIL I back them <steam>

Which Jockeys seem to have it in for you folks?

I have a dislike of the claimer Sean Houlihan based on one ride he gave one I'd picked out as a cert. He made the poor animal travel at least a couple of furlongs more than the rest of the field. I've not backed one of his since. Harsh I know based on one ride. I'm also not a huge fan of A E Lynch either. The ride he gave Flemenstar in the 2012 Lexus was an absolute horror show IMO. Took a pull at the final turn when the horse clearly wanted to just get on with it and win and then lost the race. I'm convinced he wrecked the horse in that one race.

Who the hell is Luke Moore by the way? An amalgamation of Luke Morris and Ryan Moore?

I could never catch McCoy - which is a bit mad when you think how many winners he had!
On the positive side I do seem to do well by Frankie.

Jockeys I dont go near anymore are Ruby 'Greedy' Walsh and Jimmy Crowley, bent as they come.Barry G is a gentleman but cant trust him in the saddle anymore. Moore was poor last season but is still a decent horseman.

Since Crowley got the gig with Hamdan Al Maktoum, he never seems to win for me.

There were a couple of Hamdan’s horse last year that would lose for Crowley and then win for Dane O’Neill. So I did end up in a situation where I would hope that if there were runners at two meetings Crowley would go to the other one so O’Neill would pick up the ride on the nag I wanted to back!

I have too many other jockeys on the naughty step because the last time I backed them they came to late or went too early, but that is racing. It is not impossible that sometimes it is the horse not the midget? <laugh>

One of the punters in the shop the other day, was saying that the horses don't know at what price they go off at.
This old boy was sat in his favourite chair, and in a broad Norfolk accent uttered the immortal words.....
"Maybe not ole partner....but the fecking boy Johnson bloody well does!!" <laugh> <laugh>

Guess you really had to be there, unless you can imagine a proper thick Norfolk accent

Ryan Moore...the most overrated jockey ever.
Replay his rides at Royal Ascot last year. He lost three races he should have won- through being continually boxed in.
He's terrible at weaving through the field.
He reminds me of Willie Carson in a finish; very strong, but there it ends.

Happy New Year to everyone.<cracker>
New Year predictions...
1. Ruby Walsh to retire.
2. Waiting Patiently to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup- He was only cantering at Kempton and jumped the best in the field.
3. Laurina to win wherever she goes at Cheltenham- I hope Mullins goes for the Champion Hurdle. She looks an even better prospect than Annie Power did at the same stage.

I have a bet 12/1 for the Champion Hurdle.

The only if about her Tam is that she has only ever run on soft, very soft and heavy and, although one can expect slow times on such ground and she has won very easily, the times are incredibly slow and she has been odds on in 3 of her 4 wins (13/8f in the other); and the one she beat lto by 8.5l has been beaten even further by some not particularly good opposition. She may be top class but so far she hasn't been pitched against anything of note and has been able to win doing handstands. Any idea why she was taken out of the Relkeel?

Hi Ron. Mullins said she wanted softer ground than she would find in the Relkeel, but it seems a pathetic reason. The ground had give and , on the face of it, seems another example of mollycoddling modern racehorses.
However, Mullins does overprotect his good mares- Annie Power only had one minor race prior to her 2016 Champion Hurdle triumph.
So maybe you are right,Ron, but Laurina certainly gave a fantastic visual impression last season.
