Quality signing. He's a left footed Albrighton in that he works hard, can attack as well as defend, has a crazy good cross on him and can take a really good set piece (expect him to score from a freekick).

    This kinda came out nowhere!

A great signing, we've been calling out for a LB (Konchesky HAS to go now!).

Nice to also see we're getting our business done early <ok>

An international on a free transfer in a position where we need reinforcement - not a bad bit of business.

Can't wait for his chants as well.

Wow. This actually feels like the kind of signing an established Premier League would make. Twelve months ago we were signing players like Upson & Ulloa from the Championship. Now we're signing Champion's League players. Exciting times.

Although, according to the Daily Mail, this signing is to replace Schlupp, who's off to Arsenal.

Quality signing captains the Austrian international team, last 4 yrs at Schalke with Champions league experience. Very good pedigree.
Apparently technically very good with excellent passing and crossing/ set piece ability.
Great bit of business on a free.

Great signing, love it when these just come out of nothing! Position we need to strengthen in, and gives us the option to go to a back 4, well done Nigel!

East Midlands Today didn't mention this story at all. They did, however, mention Derby have been linked with another Championship player, they took the piss out of the cricket team winning its first four dayer in three years and went to town the other night about Thaigate, but didn't mention us at all today. The BBC can go **** itself.

Another good thing about signing players like this and early too - it might help sway Cambiasso and Huth, showing that we have every aspiration of continuing next season as we finished this one.

I cant see anyone leaving other then the out of contract players plus Danny Simpson and Chris Wood

Selling players like Schmeichel, Schlupp, Mahrez, Vardy, Ulloa etc. will only see us go backwards

Fuchs is a proven player at international level aswell as champions league and the bundesliga. Get Huth, Wasilewski and Cambiasso signed up and then theres enough experience throughout the squad

I have to say though, he doesn't have any of that Premier League experience that is so important, and definitely cost us last season :bandit:

    We should just keep Konchesky!

... potentially a very exciting signing... will give the flexibility to switch to 4-4-2 ... don't see Schlupp going anywhere but can't see Konch being offered a new contract with the quality now in front of him

Another number 23. What is it with that number? Great start to the transfer window though.

I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't go straight in over Schlupp, unless he shows something special pre-season.

Pearson likes to make sure the players 100% ready before starting them, look at how he integrated Albrighton, Knockeart, Mahrez et al. Hes certainly not one to throw players in at the deep end.
