Just watched the 'highlights' on Tigers Player. Amazing goal from Proschwitz, and to be fair a brilliant assist for the winner. However, the footage showed a less than enthusuastic celebration for the former, and no involvement in Cairney's celebrations for the latter. I think his influence is getting stronger on his cameos (FA Cup included), but he looks pissed off to say the least. Doesn't seem a one-of-the-lads team player at all. Maybe just a language thing?

Think some of the lads not impressed by the way he always has his towel in the best spot in the dressing room for the after match shower.

Most of his goals have been taken down from youtube but by the few that are on there from Germany it seems that he doesnt really celebrate much after he scores.

i think he is improving by the game and i hope he feels he can 'join-in' soon WHEN he is a regular and first choice striker. he already has more to offer than Simpson and when we sign another poacher (a la DJ) to play along side him, and we are forced to change our game in elmos absence, I think he will shine even more

I was surprised how he seemed to drift out to the right and get a cross in that Elmo would have been proud of on the highlights. Both he and Jako have struggled with the pace and physical side of the game. I think he is developing into a real asset. oK he doesn't celebrate, but I do think that he will in time.

Could he be an option for the right in the absence of Elmo?

Sorry I was tired last night - In my mind I was thinking Right Wing and lots of crosses - Completely ignoring the fact that we use wing backs.

Never mind. I'll just put that down to me being simple.

To be fair, who cares if he celebrates or not, it's not a rule to celebrate. Let the lad score, let him play, let him improve.

Nowt wrong with an old fashioned 19th Century Corinthian style handshake after a goal.

The game will be better off without some of these ridiculous modern goal celebrations.

I've always thought goal celebrations were for the kids anyway

    <applause> Couldnt agree more.

I like his arrogance, good goal scorers have that.

I think he is pissed off, he wants to be playing you can tell and in this moment in time he deserves to be playing.

I like the idea of the gentlemenly handshake. I find it weird when you see clips from the 70s (ish) and when players scored they just ran around in circles jumping now and then. It's not the absence of cartwheels and knee-slides that makes it odd it's just that they don't seem that happy about scoring, just excited like little children. Generally now, even the understated players tend to give it a fist-pump or a massive shout of happiness or something but those 70s players just ran and jumped with a straight face.

There's nothing wrong with being excited like a child when scoring. I hate it when you see players who have obviously been practising goal scoring celebrations yet they don't practice penalties enough to avoid scuffing the ball like they've never tried to kick one in their life before.

I know what you mean. I hate players making mistakes over such simple things like penalties and one-on-one shots. There's nothing wrong with those celebrations from the 70s I just find it strange the way they reacted. Modern goal celebrations don't have to be rehearsed and coreographed (although the African dancey ones do make me laugh) but if a player goes crazy and runs into the stand it shows a bit of passion.

.....you mean before the ref has to enforce a rule that nobody wants by yellow carding him. i d let players get away with the passionate 'in to the crowd' exuberance . It's the pans people style foreign sh it that needs outlawing.
