That'll suit me. I'd take Graham too, was immense at Carlisle (my second team) and would be good backup I reckon

Can't see why you would want Graham? he's a championship player at best! and wouldn't cut it at premier league level, not even as back up. We need to be aiming much higher than this guy if we want to progress.

What happened to Obbina from West Ham?

Havn't seen a lot of him but thought he was a livly player when we played them down there and he was there main outlet going forward.
Looked a decent enough player from what I'd seen of him

Apologies, I forgot about him. There are so many players on our fantasy list!

He's only 25, probably come fairly cheap (if not then I wouldn't bother) and has shown he clearly knows where the goal is. Top scorer of the whole league in a team which came 14th, so he clearly didn't just have bags of quality around him to explain all of his goals. Not to mention he's a Newcastle fan who would give 100% every game. Plus we are desperate for bodies up front. That's why I'd want Graham.

Excellent points, would only buy him on the cheap though, and not as our no.1 striker either. We'd probably have to move out at least 2 strikers, and we'd still have 4 competing for one place.

Not entirely sold on Demba Ba either, questionable injury record.

He may be only 25 but being the top scorer in the fizzy pop league does not make his premier league class.

Doesn't mean he isn't premier league class either.

You never know untill they actually play <ok>

I'd have Graham as reserve striker, replacement for Lover in the squad and decent backup IMO. I'm still unsold on Ba, not sure he is of the quality to lead our line by himself next season.

  15. 3 million plus shola!!!

    Great deal IMO

Ba is a class player, and Shola is like the Drogba of the CC. He can help them get straight back up <ok>

Not sure about Ba, I'm still concerned that Stoke turned him down at a late stage because of a problem injury.

Graham possibly as a back up, but not as a front line striker, and not unless he was cheap.

    Craig Mackail-Smith though...

We didn't go for Kevin Phillips, of Watford, back in the day, as a Championship player was deemed to be not good enough for us. Sunderland took a punt on him, for less than a million, and suddenly, everyone could see that he was a top class striker.

Buying a more high profile name, from abroad, does not guarantee that he will hack it in the Premier League. Giuvarche, Luque, Xisco, Boumsong, Viana. Need I go on?

For my part, I would be reasonably happy for us to have a punt on Graham or Shane Long, for that matter. At least you could be sure thay would put a shift in!
