Of course this comparison ignores the fact that matches to be played are different between the seasons. A few observations: Whatever form we take, City and Chelsea are well ahead of everyone else. If the 2 replicate last seasons form from now then they will be neck and neck at the end. The biggest losers at the top this season are the merseysiders (Everton and the RS ) and arsenal. If the RS get the same number of points from the next 21 matches as last season, they will get 70 points. That what Brenda is hoping for with Sturridge 's return. But even that might not be enough to get into top 4.but if they continue on current form they'll end up with 49 points, likely in bottom half of the table. Arsenal are also having a relatively poor season. Even they get the points of last season they will also end up with 70 points. United if they carry on on current form would get 72 points which could get them into top 4. However if they fall into Moyes form they will get 68 and might get pipped by the RS and arsenal with their 70 pts should they go onto their last seasons mode post Xmas. So to be sure of top 4 and finishing above the RS United have to at the very least maintain their current form. The biggest gainers this season no matter what are west ham United and Swansea. The biggest losers at the bottom hull, palace and WBA. The newly promoted sides may save one or more from relegation. Ps: sorry.
