Now that we've been at the Liberty for a few years, nostalgia has bitten and I crave your views regarding football and the obvious connection with pubs.During the mid eighties my pre-match pub would be the one that would serve me a pint, once I had a choice I tended to frequent The Quadrant Gate or The Garibaldi, but of course being at the Vetch we had plenty of nearby options.
So I was wondering which pubs were your matchday favourites and why?
If you could transport a pub to the Liberty car park which one would you choose?
And what makes a good matchday pub,the fans, the beer, the location?
And for all you exiled Jacks which pub pulls at the heartstrings, and which is your favourite where you are now?
    What makes the perfect pub?
Let me know all you drunkards!

the builders cause its right by a bookies to bet on swans wins. no booky by the liberty is there? thats a big shame, the queens in its heyday was a great pub. The railway and the coopers are the best pubs by the liberty imo.

The builders for me when I was going to the vetch, but missed most of the 90s as was abroad, but always seemed to meet the lads there, and coopers now because it's a good pub and it's close to the stadium, out of interest what away pubs? I never get a chance to go to away games as my commitments never allow it

This season anytime the Swans or Ospreys or Wales have been on tv I've always gone to the sports bar up the road.
I've had some pretty amazing times there - Pratleys goal, me (being the only Swanse fan) celebrating in front of bar full of Forest fans. Then getting a bunch of handshakes from them at the whistle.
And some pretty horrible times - Wales (what a load of rubbish)
The manager and I get on really well now:cheesy:

After the match I always popped into the Quadrant Gate, not much of an atmosphere but the other pubs were always busy!

I used to enjoy a few at the Builder's, but since moving to the Liberty, it's the Hafod Inn every game. Nice short walk before the game, (nip for a wee), rock and roll.

As i was born in Fleet st in the Sandfields...the abertawe ale house was my local (It was called "The Bath" hotel then) and only 5 mins from The Vetch.....But to get a real feel for the game, it was from there up to The Garibaldi..or now and then The Clarence<ok>

Another place where I used to meet up before the game and after was rumours wine bar, we would normally meet there have something to eat and then go to the builders

Definitely used to be the Builders before a match, after it was first choice too but to be honest we usually ended up in the Potters Wheel because the Builders was full by the time we got out.
