In anticipation of Honest Harry going down the chokey and Lee Hughes also having his soap on a rope, I was amused to hear that Michael Padavano (he of Palarse fame) have just got 8 years for drug trafficking. You may rememer he and Lombardo joining Sainsburys about 8 years ago in a blaze of publicity but both were really awful and cost the tango man an absolute fortune. The story reminded me of a player in the seventies who played for palace with a turkish name but an irish passport. He got caught passing fake fivers in a pub after the game. Anyone remember this guy? he also beat up George Best.
I wish that were true, Stu but this was a combination of half a memory, Google and Wiki. Damned good player this one, what used to be called 'swashbuckling'.
At the end of the day players are human beings like the rest of us and they have a nasty streak, though I'm not condoning that lets be clear. But I do think they tend to get off lighter than the average Joe, but then again if we look at the court and jail system I'm sure there will be others who are not punished as they should be and more than likely re-offend. I'm not really sure what my point here is, do I have one? LOL
