Footballer Joey Barton will be on Q Radio this Sunday (25 September) from 2pm (BST) as our guest single reviewer.

The Queens Park Rangers captain is the guest on the Q Show and along with getting to grips with this week's releases and picking some of his own favourite songs, he also talks about his musical tastes, football, his public perception and why he's become one of Twitter's most vocal users.

"When I first started tweeting everyone was like This can't be you because you can't spell, then it was like This is definitely not you because you can't read, because I tweeted about books I read," jokes Barton who you can follow at Twitter.com/joey7barton. "So yeah, I didn't really have the most flattering of public perception but over a short period of time that's changed a little bit."

He adds that Twitter gives him the chance to talk about things away from the pitch, particularly his love of music.

"I just express the side of my personality that would never really get on Sky Sports TV or the back pages of newspapers... if newspapers did an article about you they tend to already have written the story before they actually interviewed you, and you sort of just fill in the blanks in between so it became some sort of your stereotypical football interview," explains Barton.

"In all fairness, no one really cared about what footballers listened to because we were all put in a box as having bad taste in music and having no general consensus of what was going on in the world. Thankfully, through social media, we've been able to change that a little bit. "

Tune in from 2pm on Sunday as the midfield general joins Q's Paul Stokes and reviews this week's singles including offerings from Amy Winehouse & Tony Bennett, Coldplay and Bombay Bicycle Club, while we play selected highlights from this month's Q50. The show is also repeated on Tuesday (27 September) at 8pm (BST).

Let's hope that this was pre-recorded and that Warnock hasn't decided to drop him ......

mind you, he could be doing a Stan and turn up 5 minutes before kickoff. :)
