A little behind with this one but if you guys haven't heard it, Jimbo and co discuss our performance against City, our defensive qualities (or lack of) and potential transfers... Phillippe Auclair in particular has some insight on the Ramirez deal and it's fun to hear them discuss where our money is coming from Skip to 3:11 for the stuff about us: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/audio/2012/aug/20/football-weekly-podcast Incidentally if you don't listen to them every week you're really missing out.
Southampton can't defend and couldn't defend last season. Horrible when someone says the truth. Loved watching our attacking style last season with lots of goals, but every game involved some scuffling defending on our part. Need to sort that out.
Yes, that hurt slightly, but the bottom line is, it was absolutely true. Thing is, apart from the McMenemy years and during WGS's time, all Saints teams haven't been able to defend. Even Ted Bates' teams tended to leak like a sieve, once they got into the top division. It's The Southampton Way. Outscore the opposition.
