Do people go to the egg chasing?? What do you prefer and why? I think football is more entertaining to watch than rugby, though rugby matches are good fun and you can get pissed during the game. You’re also not surrounded by dick heads. Don’t get to go to many football matches anymore but did used to enjoy the build up to a game and the buzz of it all with the slight fear of violence. Have a couple of cans and chips with gravy from Lou macaris chippy.
About the only good thing you can say about rugby is that England won a World Cup this century. But now it appears our posh boys are as **** as our chavvy ****s, possibly more so, so rugby can **** off.
As a sport it is better. The game is played to the spirit of the game. No cheating play acting. Refs decisions are respected.
Rugby is ok for the first 3 minutes and then you get bored of all the fat people telling everybody that football is for ****s and how they are real men because they drink each other’s piss for a laugh.
Last few times I’ve been to OT I’ve had a lad with his Mrs to one side of my constantly taking photos and snap chatting them. A guy that fell asleep and snores all through the second half, and a mouthy twat who spent the game calling the ref a ****.
There’s a bloke who stands behind me, a fat bald fella. Must swear more than anybody else in the world, apart from Matth obviously. I must admit he does annoy me but I also enjoy the fact that he has a meltdown every game.
I have been to many Rugby International games and many England football games all over the world, the difference is in the fans and their behaviour. Football fans tend to get pissed up and tribal and aggressive whereas rugby fans get pissed and become patriotic but not aggressive.
What stand are you in? I haven’t been since the season Ferguson retired. Was going to try and get tickets this season, I know enough season ticket holders who don’t go to every game. I just don’t want to subject myself to the dross served up and spend a few hundred quid for the pleasure. I get free tickets to the rugby, it’s a good laugh get smashed then hob nob up in the hospitality suites afterward with the local people who are full of themselves because they have debentures for the exclusive part of the ground. Security never question me when I just waltz in there.
Stretford End mate. I have two ST’s but I have my little girl most Saturdays cos the Mrs works so I haven’t been going as often as I used to go. Prefer spending my Saturdays with her than watching that ****e anyway.
Let me know dude. Could reimburse you with wine or protein shakes whatever you prefer. I’d like to do a Friday night game if there is one will then book a hotel for two nights and make a weekend of it. Last time I came up I stayed at the hotel by the ground, went out after the game into deansgate, then ended up in the restaurant owned by Rio I think was absolutely obliterated by then. The ****s scanned my card twice for my food and cocktails. I was too ashamed to complain by the time I realised.
As the saying goes “Football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans, and rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen." Gentlemen in both cases meaning a bunch of tax-dodging ****wits who's head are so far up their own arses it is back on their necks.
International, top of the tree, rugby is brilliant to go to. It's an event though, not like you go every week or anything. Love going to watch Wales. Last time was v England in 6 nations and next time will be England in six nations. That'll do, every two years. Brilliant day out. Region rugby is ****e though. Decent enough quality but the crowds are poor. European rugby ok, bigger crowds and the French and Irish sides are good to watch Wouldn't dream of going all the time though. Go to football every week in some shape or other, I just don't get bored of it. Just witnessed the most abject half of football I think I've ever seen from a team I follow mind. (Which is saying something considering how gash United currently are!) Will still go back on Wednesday.
