Something to lighten up the troops after a miserable few days.

How would you prefer your team to play football? Over the years both clubs have had some success, but at what cost?
Would you prefer to watch a side that plays exciting inter-passing attacking football and just misses the cut for promotion.

OR

Would you prefer to support a team that achieves success with a style of play that bores you to tears?

OR

Do you only go to watch the visitors?
 
I want to watch a team that plays like they mean it - like we did against Rotherham in fact.

What I don't want to watch is a bunch of players who are bemused or don't seem to care - like we did for most of last season.
 
all i want is 11 players to play like they want to play for their career like it could be their last game ever. i want them to enjoy their football while showing determination and passion on the pitch like football and rovers is in their blood. giving their all in games. if we lose, it wouldnt matter to me. i know if 11 players did the above then we wouldnt lose too many and if they did the above then performance levels will be high instead of this hoofball **** and cant be bothered attitude and give up after conceding just happy to pick up his wage instead of actually happy to be a footballer. i know if i had a chance to be in any one of their boots i would grab the chance with both hands and not let go.
 
wow for once i agree with you cjs except for it to be city in their blood. (think i need to lie down now )
 
I think all fans, except the glory hunters, want the same from their team.
100% effort, a bit of skill, some sign of tactics and a laugh now and again.
I agree with everything you've posted in the last ten minutes!

don't care the football, unless we win and gets results..

but if the football isn't working.. then it needs changing..

Look at west ham for example, play awful football but get the results.. the same for all of big sams teams

and sean o driscoll.. lovely passing football.. does it work? Not really..
 
I did not think I would ever admit this but I agree with CJS.
Ugly hoof ball don't attract fans, remember Wimbledon, they never attracted anyone to their club because of it hence they went and moved, thinking they could attract more with a bigger catchment area.
I know my ultimate dream is to see City in the premiership but I pay my money to be entertained! I would not turn my back on city and stop but I want to know that when my time is up we are able to attract fans.
When we had Danny Wilson playing attractive football our gates were higher and the atmosphere was brill.
I was telling the kids the other day about the times we was walking to the ground and you could hear the singing from the ground from the park.
Now you get a few songs about 20 mins into the game.
SOD got average players playing attractive football imagine if he had a bit of money to spend?
 
I also agree with CJS (finally a City united....!) but what we need right now is to be horrible opponents to everyone we meet starting with Barnsley, and grind out a few results because if we are to survive that's the only sensible way to proceed and save our status.

I hope Del shows all of the players absolutely no mercy until we've achieved safety.
 
Really pleasant to hear comments from both sets of fans in accord. We are all passionate about our clubs or we would not be here rabbitting on about them so often. i married into a set of City fans who only go to watch the 'big' clubs who play the reds. Sickening innit? I 've watched both styles of play with both clubs. Rovers under Don Megson (bit dour, but nice bloke), 27 games at start of season without defeat (I believe that was the year Rovers went to Brian Clough's Brighton when he claimed to the success of being the first team to score two goals against Rovers, unfortunately for him Rovers scored eight) and City with Alan Dicks (very nice Bloke) promoted to Div One with 'if you hang on to the ball at all costs the opponents can't score (forwards, bacwards, any where rather than give up possession)' mentality. But I did jump over the fence with everybody else and salute Big John at THE end of season promotion match. So I've mixed feelings. Bit like Swansea against Wolves last weekend, the Swans played beautiful passing football, two goals up and then blew it to a boring team. Please note I watched to keep an eye on Scott Sinclair(what a loss to Bristol football!)
